Instead of treating these fees as direct practice expense, we believe AI tools should be viewed like EHRs and treated as indirect expense. That is more reflective of how clinicians are truly paying for AI, given growing use of subscription models.

Payment for these services is largely driven by “analysis fees” charged by AI companies. We think this is the wrong strategy.
