Using formal phrases like your obedient servant was standard colonial era letter writing practice, not a sign of loyalty. If this is your logic, then you should also question Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and even Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, who used similar respectful language in their communications with British authorities. So why the selective outrage only against Ambedkar? Ambedkar didn’t go to jail because his fight was intellectual, constitutional, and social he was fighting the caste system that even so called nationalists refused to dismantle. He was negotiating rights for the most oppressed when others were focused only on political power. By that logic, half of India’s leaders would be labelled the same. This obsession with attacking Ambedkar only exposes one thing fear of his ideas and discomfort with equality.
