Lovely day out to Port Eynon today with grand daughter. However, £39 for 2 fish and chips plus a kids version with just soft drinks is mad. With £6 for parking £45 for a day to the beach makes it an expensive day out. Unless something is done to help hospitality this summer we could see many of our UK hospitality businesses really struggling by the end of the year. #UKHospitality #Wales

@socialistp40357 @RachelReevesMP Strange how nobody moans about footballers wages. They contribute nothing to society. Have tax avoidance scams and some get paid £1m a week. Nobody seems to care about that tho

Dear @RachelReevesMP. Can you explain to me why MP's on £98'599 per year from April, are getting a £3'300 cost of living payment too? Most "working people" are lucky if they earn £30k, and they have to pay the cost of heating their homes and pay their own rent and mortgage too.

@billythbook @GraemeAtkinson5 Losing the sky sports coverage then RPGTV was a nail in the coffin. Aware SSR cover it too but it’s always lost in a sea of pish French and American horse racing.

@James82310331 Ryan Moore barely raises a smile when he wins a derby, Barzalona did this and got slagged for it. Typical of the UK.

Absolutely stunned these last few days to discover how many United supporters on my followers are supporters of Reform & Restore Britain. They are no longer on my followers as they clearly know nothing of our club or the history of Manchester.

When I was growing up, pubs would often be rammed until closing time (not so much during the week, but certainly at weekends). The bell for “last orders” would usually spark a rush to the bar. These days, even the most popular pubs seem to start emptying out around 8.00-9.00pm, including on Fridays and Saturdays. Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon? Is there a reason for it?

Billy Loughnane was handed a 21-day ban for improper riding after the stewards ruled he acted against the instructions of the vet at Southwell on Thursday evening. David Loughnane’s Beelzebub, received a kick and was subsequently withdrawn by the vets having been deemed to be lame. He then proceeded to ride the six-year-old back from the start. Not very good from young Billy, and a big lesson learnt here for the young man!

Barcelona v Manchester Champions League, Nov 1994 Attendance: 114,000 I had no match ticket that night. A few pesetas to a steward though and I was in. Manchester (United) were roundly beaten 4-0

@RacingMikey96 That's the BHA all over. If I was Billy, I wouldn't even give them the satisfaction of appealing. I'd take the ban, it'd make me more determined to win the jockeys title, I'd also stop doing any interviews or PR as a result. Racing should realise they're lucky to have the likes

Interesting words from David Loughnane about the horse, and it seems rather unfair to ban Billy Loughnane for 21 days when by all accounts he hasn’t really done anything he shouldn’t have.

@AshDavidsonUK @l_is_for_legs @spiritofshankly There is no defending the clubs on this. The fact of the matter is, the big clubs don't want regular match goers. They want day trippers who don't mind paying more to get in and will spend more once inside the stadium. That and corporate is all they're interested in now.

Also it’s interesting they are linking it to inflation in 2026 - in 1994 it was £8 to stand on the Kop in 2026 that would be £17.10 if it had kept in line with inflation 🤷‍♂️
Spirit of Shankly tweet media
Joe McCarthy@ThatJoeMcCarthy

@_lfcsb @spiritofshankly FSG purchased the club for £300 million in '10. Forbes valued the club in '25 at £4 billion. That's almost a 14-fold increase in value for the owners. But they still increase ticket prices, just to line their pockets even more. Football is nothing without fans. Walk out. Protest.

@rudkin_abigail Nobody likes paying more for tickets, yet nobody complains about player wages or transfer fees being astronomically higher compared to years past. It's an easy google/AI search to see that: Wages: ~+3,000% to +3,500% Transfer fees: ~+500% to +600% Ticket prices: ~+100% to +150%

So disappointing this. We’re being priced out of the ground and they won’t realise until it’s too late and the atmosphere doesn’t exist anymore. No matter how little the increase is it’ll be the difference for someone between going and not going.
Liverpool FC@LFC

Liverpool FC can confirm it will increase general admission ticket prices limited to inflation for the next three seasons, while freezing junior and local general tickets at £9 each. 🔗 lfc.tv/4t9lOKn

@TheAnfieldWrap The game is gone for working class lads now, no matter if you support Liverpool, City, United, Everton.... They don't want normal season tickets holders. They want corporate and day trippers who will spend, spend, spend and don't mind paying extortionate prices for a match.

Honestly at this point UK prices are just made up: How is a return train to London £170? How is a "cheap" weekend away in England suddenly £600 when I could fly abroad for that. How did £700 rent turn into £1500 for the same house? Why does my car insurance rise every year on the same car with no claims? And since when did two bags of shopping come to nearly £100? We're finished. Absolutely done. 🇬🇧

Another fact: In 25 games in the UCL , Cantona scored 8 goals, and never made it to a final in his career. He never played at a World Cup. 0 goals at Euros A guy who benefitted off an awful Premier League era, which was evident in his European and international performances.

Just to confirm so that people who aren’t clued up on Cantona’s time at Utd don’t get fooled by this stuff; In 97 you needed 69 points to win the title. Cantona scored 11 goals this season He made the PFA TOTY once in 7 seasonsc during the WORST era in Premier League history

Are you dumb? Cantona won the league with Leeds then came to United won it every season he was at United apart from the one he was suspended during. Goal catalogue ridiculous, leader of men and basically decided where the league would be.
