Two objects I never thought I’d own — I remember in 2011 seeing the Vacheron metier d’art eschers’ dove watch go on sale for $110,000 (limited to 10 pc) and thinking it was a grail but nigh impossible to get. The price was too high for my salaried brain to compute. 10 pieces was too low to expect to even see one in the wild. Years later to celebrate my first 8 figure year I was buying a $300k AP and saw it under glass while paying for my purchase — i added it to the purchase without a second thought. When the aventador was teased I remember thinking it was the most exotic car I’d ever laid eyes on. Then they previewed the sticker price ($399k base or so) and my heart sank. Whelp so much for that. About as many years later as the watch I saw one while killing time visiting socal for “business.” I decided to buy it on the spot — and drove it to the house I was renting for the weekend to do an afterparty for a shoot (the house in LA that was featured in HBO and @TheRock’s “Ballers”
