@MrLandesman Prior to starting the turn and talk I have them lock eyes with a person near them. When I snap they start talking. This takes away the time spent looking for a partner to talk to. Or you can assign partners for it but that is a challenge for absences or diversity in conversation

I have never been able to use Turn and Talk well. Any advice on how you use it well in your classrooms?

She was my principal in elementary school, and later a mentor when I grew up to be an educator myself. It was a joy to have you observe my classroom, Mrs. McGhee, and to get to know you as an adult. May your legacy live on 🫶🏼📚✏️📓❤️

We never even heard of “mindfulness” and “self worth” in schools in the 1980s. I am so glad we now know the importance of social and emotional health.
