@KemiBadenoch So once we have no human rights do we just trust you to give us some rights? Omg. Anyone who thinks any party should be allowed to take our human rights away from us and leave us with nothing but promises, is terrifyingly misguided. Please. These people are tyrants.

It is time for Britain to leave the European Convention on Human Rights. I have not taken this decision lightly. I have always been clear that we should leave the ECHR if we need to, but I was also concerned about the arguments that had been raised in opposition to leaving. The moment my mind was changed was earlier this year, during my campaign for a national inquiry into the grooming gangs. Hearing survivors’ horrific stories first-hand, and watching as the men who had raped young girls in Britain avoided deportation by using the ECHR, hardened my resolve that it was time to gather the legal evidence for leaving. So, before the summer, I commissioned distinguished KC Lord Wolfson, to advise me definitively on whether five key policies that a Conservative government I lead would want to implement could be delivered as a member of the ECHR. First, could we take back control of our asylum system and lawfully remove foreign criminals and illegal immigrants to their home country or a third country such as Rwanda? Second, could we stop our veterans being endlessly pursued by vexatious legal attacks, and make sure our military can fight a future war without one hand tied behind their backs? Third, could we put British citizens first when it comes to social housing and public services because we believe that charity begins at home and those who have paid in should come first? Fourth, could we make sure prison sentences actually reflect Parliament’s intentions? And fifth, could we stop courts treating climate change as a human right and allowing endless legal challenges to frustrate the changes we need to make to our planning system? What all these questions really come down to is: who makes the laws that govern the United Kingdom? I am clear that it should be our sovereign Parliament, democratically accountable to the British people, that decides. This week Lord Wolfson delivered his advice. He found that in all the five policy areas I outlined above, the ECHR places significant constraints on the Government’s ability to address the key issue. When it comes to the removal of illegal immigrants and protecting veterans, ECHR membership makes it impossible to do what I believe is necessary. In the areas of public services, prison sentences and climate change constraints, the changes I want to make to our laws would be subject to the sort of debilitating legal challenges that lead to government policies getting delayed and ultimately killed in the courts. Lord Wolfson’s advice also indicates that alternative options, such as re-negotiation, derogation or repealing only the Human Rights Act, are either unrealistic or ineffective. So, after consultation with my Shadow Cabinet, I have decided that the next Conservative government will withdraw from the ECHR. This is a big change in Conservative Party policy, but a necessary one. There will be some, such as our human rights lawyer Prime Minister, who will howl that by doing so we are turning our backs on the international community. But Britain has never needed supranational agreements and oversight by foreign courts to protect the rights and freedoms of our people. We will return to common law and statutory protections, focused on democratic legitimacy and ensuring a proper balance between rights and responsibilities. Leaving the ECHR will prevent the courts in the UK and in Strasbourg using ever-widening interpretations of its articles to frustrate sensible border control. The road ahead will not be simple. Lord Wolfson is clear that leaving the ECHR does create technical and political challenges. But we can no longer pretend that we can act in the interest of the prosperity and security of this country without taking those challenges on. And Lord Wolfson advises that withdrawing from the ECHR alone is not enough. If we are fully to control our borders and end illegal migration, there must be further action.

@Salwan_Momika1 Repulsive. My nine year old little girl can menstruate, she has not developed fully at all!! Certainly no where near the physical body of a woman. Also, I do not believe these girls are having periods at 9, it's very young and uncommon to start this early. These men are PDF's!!!

A brief history of gynaecology and midwifery (since some men deem it prudent to shriek about how amazing the male gyno they know is): From circa 3500 B.C. there is documented history of midwives - and until 300 B.C. these were women. In ancient Egypt, for example, midwives were generally female neighbours, family member or friends. Labouring women in those days stood, kneeled, squatted, or whatever position felt most comfortable and natural. The midwives had no formal training, but rather learned through ‘apprenticeships’ of their elders. They would not only assist in the birth, but provide emotional care and support to the birthing woman. In Europe, between 2200 B.C. and 1700 B.C., women were instrumental in building the professionalism of midwifery. However, in the Middle Ages female midwives and healers were deemed to be heretics and witches. In China, female midwives leaned on Chinese medicine such as qi, yingyang and wuxing. Most of these midwives were not formally educated. This midwifery style continued until the 13th century when male practitioners began to formalise and control obstetrics. Before ~1740 England, midwives and female loved ones were the ones that attended births (unless a serious complication occurred). Labour and birth were considered a female affair. It was not until 1877 England that women were even allowed to study medicine, so prior to that, and after men decided it was too unseemly for women to give birth in the natural, animalistic way, and thus placing us on our backs, the only people allowed to attend births were medically trained (men) obtestraicians. For example, it was Dr. Spain of Holles Street in 1944 Dublin, that decided sawing a woman’s pubis was an appropriate method to speed up delivery of a child. A man popularised sawing women in two, for which our country is still recovering from. It was not long ago that female health professionals did not exist, due to being refused training or education. We also know there have been men, who enter the field of being paid to examine vaginas, have abused and raped their patients. This is no secret. No one is saying men should never enter these fields. Or that all of them that do are a threat to our safety. But to flip your absolute shit over women demanding female practitioners for intimate care only females require, is not hateful and is not wrong or extreme. If I go for a smear test (a rather humiliating experience) and have someone poking and prodding around at my intimate areas, and potentially delivering unwanted news, I do not want it to be a man. Why would I? And I should have every right to demand it is a woman that is putting a speculum inside me, when I am extremely uncomfortable and already just trying to go through the motions of ensuring I’m healthy and okay, rather than a man who will NEVER EVER understand what I am going through. If you are a man and are actually, genuinely offended to the point you are assuming women are accusing the male gyno you know of abuse, when they did not, simply because women want to have intimate care from another woman, (as we did for millennia before men decided they knew best) I suggest you really sit and reflect on that and why you think men HAVE to be allowed touch our labia and vaginas for a living.

@SamanthaTaghoy This woman is being ABUSED! There should be not one single person around her encouraging this! The moment she expressed doubts, should have been when it was recognised that she had withdrawn her consent. I believe she was raped by 100 men! Her parents complicit. It's an outrage!

Lily Phillips made the choice to sleep with 100 men on camera. But that doesn’t mean she isn’t also being exploited by those around her, nor does it make her undeserving of the intervention she so clearly needs. However, it is a damning indictment of our society that we see a young woman engaging in dangerous behaviour and struggling mentally while putting herself in these harmful situations — and we merely scoff and declare that she deserves it. And even Phillips herself doesn’t understand the risks of her risky behaviour. In an interview before the stunt, she appeared shocked when quizzed about the risk of sexually transmitted infections and was unaware that HIV was passed on through bodily fluids. Meanwhile, it appears from the interview and her naivety that she was unsure as to whether the production team behind her viral stunt had conducted medical screening on her male costars. It seems that she is neither mature nor educated enough to be able to grasp the gravity of her actions, and is merely the face of a far larger machine. Yet, she is the only one facing public backlash. Yes, Phillips “chose” to do this. But a 23 year old woman did not orchestrate this operation alone, and there are puppeteers behind her pulling the strings and cashing in on her naivety and vulnerability. Her mother is her financial manager and her PA pushed her to go ahead with the stunt and kept encouraging her when she expressed doubt and fear. Her father’s friends — men who watched her grow up — even subscribe to her OF. Furthermore, she admitted that she could only remember 5 or 6 of the men and had disassociated during filming, and so could not remember the ordeal and wouldn’t be able to verify it if it weren’t for the footage.  Indeed, Phillips’ broke down in tears afterwards as she recounted the day for a documentary crew, demeaning herself and admitting how hard it was to follow through with the act. These are all clear indicators of a girl who is not okay, and who is being severely traumatised by the things she is doing — in part because of the agents around her who are pushing her down a path of self-destruction so they can line their pockets. She may have consented, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t still being exploited and used.  Indeed, risky sexual behaviour is a well-documented form of self-harm. Most common in women and gay men, this behaviour is characterised by “willing” participation in dangerous or reckless acts, usually as a coping mechanism for underlying trauma or mental health problems. After all, if you spend your whole life being used or exploited by others around you — or grow up in a society which normalises sex as a legitimate “career path” — it’s understandable that one might develop an unhealthy relationship with sex and promiscuos behaviour. I know how that feels, because I’ve been there.  I was sexually abused for a decade by multiple men and know what it’s like to be taught that your only value is being used sexually. Many victims of rape or child sexual abuse fall into self-destructive patterns, or feel that their value depends on their ability to provide sexual gratification for others. I’ve been that girl, and I can see the warning signs in others. Phillips is surrounded by people who are profiting from her selling her body. They encourage her, they enable her, they convince her when she isn’t sure she can stomach the degradation and brutality of her “career”. Yet, because we see a pretty young girl cashing out a large paycheck for her online exploits, she suddenly becomes unworthy of the sympathy and support given to other victims.

@jk_rowling No India, it's a woman thing, we see JK Rowling as Mary Poppins, men don't, it's a well known fact. It's something us women use to tell if a person is really a woman, we ask "is JK Rowling Mary Poppins" if they say "yes", we let them come in our toilets, no more questions asked.

Lost my cool with some gay guys earlier. Tried to talk to them about puberty blockers and they brushed it all aside as “right-wing talking points,” even though they admitted not knowing much about blockers at all. I said a majority of minors at gender clinics would simply grow up to be lesbian or gay and clinicians had raised concerns over #transingawaythegay but that this often wasn’t being taken seriously / not addressed. One goes: “So what are you saying?” Me: “That this could be a new form of medical gay conversion” He: “No one is forcing them to transition” Me: “Homophobia works in much subtler and insidious ways” He: “Transphobia is much worse than homophobia” It just got worse from there. Me: “No child is born in the wrong body” All three: “Yes they ARE!” Me, annoyed: “Now try to explain that without resorting to regressive sexist stereotypes” One of them: “Why are you being so aggressive?” Me: “Because you’re all taking utter rubbish and refusing to look at what’s happening” One of them: “What makes you think you’re the authority on this?” Me: “I never said I was. I just think we need to look at these things and base our understanding on facts and evidence” One of them: “What about feelings? I know men who have become women and they’re so much happier” ***I bit my tongue and didn’t say “They’re still blokes. Humans can’t change sex”*** I said it wasn’t about an individual’s happiness but about policy and law and how everything was being upended and that’s why there are so many court cases, including at supreme courts around the world. “How? How does it affect anyone?” asked a Polish guy. Me: “Look at the case of Isla Bryson. A male double rapist was placed in a women’s prison…” Polish guy: “OMG, Russian propaganda!” Me: “No, that really happened” Polish guy: “RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA!!!” Me: “No! An actual bloke who during his trial decided “I’m a lady” and started wearing a cheap blonde wig and pink leggings showing his weapon of rape and was placed in Cornton Vale women’s prison” Polish guy: “So that was one mistake” Me: “What do you mean?” Polish guy: “Someone made a mistake. You can’t base your argument on one mistake” Me: “It wasn’t a mistake. They were following policy. And that’s what we need to look at - why was a policy like that even in place? Who made it happen and why?” Polish guy: “In Poland they’re trying to ban children from transitioning” Me: “Good!” One: “FFS can you stop talking about this?!” Me: “No! We NEED to talk about this! They’re sterilising kids” Polish guy: “Russian propaganda!!!” Me: “Aaaaaaaaargh!!!!” So frustrating!!! 🤬🤯
