Cervical? You will probably be in a neck brace for a little while. I think the most frequent complaint I’ve heard is muscle spasms. If your doctor doesn’t prescribe muscle relaxers you may want to ask for a prescription. It happens because the surgery requires your muscles to work differently. Sore throat immediately after due to swelling from surgery and being intubated. They will get you up to walk as soon as possible. Some things just depend on what exactly you’re having done. A cervical fusion with a bone graft then you have 2 incisions and pain at the graft site because, well, they take some bone and it hurts.
