@CorbinMiddlemas @abcsport Just take prior three years average ladder position and limit restricted free agent destinations to the 10 lowest clubs. Harsh on players who’ve not had success, but it would support greater overall club success rates.

Clarkson on @abcsport: despite all the models overseas of free agencies, I don’t think anyone forecast the fact hardly any free agent was ever going to go to a bottom five or six club. That makes it enormously difficult to rebuild your list.

Clarkson on @abcsport: Kerch had a pretty good first half, but he just let himself slip in some key defensive areas around stoppage… a lot of these younger players have been ball magnets as kids & everything has been played through them… the defensive element of their game hasn’t been their strong point… teaching them the defensive element of the game is an important part of it

@benlee1979 @JamesLowrie24 If as expected the AFL gifts an end of 1st round pick to clubs in top 5 displaced by FS & Academy picks, then I think they will look to trade that out for a future 1st. Then we still get to use this years high end pick. Especially given Cal Twomey sees Bewick @ top 5, not Top 2

@JamesLowrie24 This is my biggest stress from our performance, that in terms of A graders it makes it takes us out of the free agency mkt being down the bottom as best only go to top 8 teams, also think we may trade out our 1st Rd pick to next yr to ensure we get Bewick

My Wishlist for Essendon this off season apart from picking up 5 A Graders is get the best development coaches in the industry and at least one assistant from a successful environment

@codeaflau It’s impossible to say what Essendon has based on so many injuries last year, but there does seem to be a lack of coherent stable coaching. Either that or the players want the coach out. They normally get their way.

If anything a year in which we finish bottom & have a bid matched for Walker thus giving us a free end of 1st round pick is what we need.

@thebendingone @benlee1979 If they want to keep Langford in the team they’d be better to send him to half back to cover Redman and have a small forward, even Nguyen up there. Langford is an okay defender and his foot skills are okay. So tall, so slow up for are currently. Still like the Farrow in.

@benlee1979 Caddy is the only one likely to kick multiple goals and should play closer to goal. Wright should ruck and Langford out of the forward line

Aussie Rules is ballistic, unstructured, with random head clashes common. I had five concussions before I was 18, which is another problem in itself.

The AFL can easily do the same. You shouldn’t become disabled going to work.
