@MyNumbersGarden

Numbers are fun. Especially the good ones. Xavier, Yankees, Pacers, Jets. 🏆 aren't coming anytime soon.

@ZipEmUp12 On a non basketball level, I also don't like the school because I don't love the way they handled my daughter's cross country/track recruitment. Didn't sit well with me so I'll never root for them in anything. I respect what they've accomplished, but won't pull for them.

It's difficult and disappointing seeing Xavier fans celebrating Connecticut's success as their own because they play in the same conference. The harsh reality is Connecticut's success means nothing for Xavier's success. Root for who you want but try not to confuse things.

@MyNumbersGarden Yea Villanova and UConn are the only schools to win championships in the big east in the past 20 years sure how many different big 10 schools? How many different acc schools?

The conference hasn't been good. I'd love for the conference to be great again, but it's hard to criticize the lack of respect. UCONN and St. John's have been good but UCONN is legitimately the only team in the BE that has a shot of winning a title every year.
Sidelines Villanova@SSN_Nova

Look, we dislike UConn and they dislike us back…but the Big East has been disrespected the last couple of years and it’s good to see the conference in the final 4, and we hope that the momentum continues with getting 5+ teams back in the tournament, like this conference deserves

@Coach_Swanson But those aren't valid arguments apparently because I'm not taking Connecticut's success as an accomplishment for Xavier basketball. They pounded us 3 times. Iron did not sharpen iron in that case.

@Coach_Swanson Connecticut will always be elite. That doesn't mean the conference is disrespected because only 3 teams got in. The 3rd team fell apart in round 1, teams 5 and up mostly had losing records overall, and St John's hasn't made it past the S16 despite it's improvement.

@Elitetakes513 @mattkoenig1975 I understand this. This is what people are trying to sell. And yet, Xavier's program has been worse. So what exactly am I missing? If this revenue stream meant success, I'd feel the exact opposite, but it doesn't. I don't see that money and my team isn't any better.

@MyNumbersGarden @mattkoenig1975 When a team advances every team in the conference gets paid which increases our revenue share which gives us more money to get better players.

@SimbaWalker6x I honestly used to. I enjoyed the first title run, but I don't get state pride that way. To me, it's like the Pats. the Chiefs, the Warriors after awhile. If I'm not a die hard it's old for me. My quality of life in Connecticut doesn't change because of it. If it did, go UCONN.

@SimbaWalker6x Look, I'm not arguing the success of Connecticut and they deserve a ton of respect. I'm looking at this through a Xavier lens and my point is, their success doesn't change anything for my team. That's reality.
