🇦🇹 It's time for our three-day Alpine adventure to begin! Switzerland, we'll see you tomorrow. Tonight we're off to a table-topping clash in Austria's second tier between Austria Lustenau and St. Pölten. It is at one of the closest stadiums to an international land border in all of Europe. The Rhine, which runs alongside the stadium, demarcates the border between Austria and Switzerland.

What a stunning picture and great explanation

This is the shot you can’t get from the press site. This camera was sitting a few football fields from the SLS rocket at Pad 39B for days before launch, baking in the Florida sun, surviving rain, humidity, and whatever else the Cape threw at it. No photographer behind the viewfinder. Just a camera, a sound trigger, and a bet. The way pad remotes work: you set your camera up days in advance, dial in your composition, lock everything down, and walk away. You don’t touch it again until after the launch. The shutter fires on sound activation with a @MiopsTrigger smart+ trigger. With SLS, the four RS-25 engines ignite six seconds before the solid rocket boosters, so the camera is already firing before the vehicle even leaves the pad. You get home, pull the card, and find out if you nailed it or if a bird landed on your lens two days ago and left your a present and you got 400 photos of soemthing crappy. There’s no formula for protecting your gear this close. Some photographers build wooden boxes with doors that pop open. Some use plastic bags and tape. Some do plastic or metal barn door rigs on hinges. I tend to leave mine open just in plastic rain covers because boxes limit my composition and setup time, but that means your cameras are more exposed to the elements and whatever energy and debris comes off the pad. You’re basically gambling a camera body every time you set one. That’s what I love about this genre. There’s no playbook. You make it up as you go. Every time is an adventure. 📸 credit: me for @SuperclusterHQ - Artemis II pad remote | ~1,000 ft from Pad 39B | Kennedy Space Center

Could #toastie on #maskedsingeruk be Dame Shirley Bassey, comes from Cardiff near Barry Island and that performance of River Deep certainly sounded like her, dancers dressed all in gold…she sang Goldfinger, stars aligned…she sang Moonraker and has a star on the walk of fame??

@LordAshcroft @I_W_M I hope you find another UK museum willing to display these fantastic medals, it would be such a shame to see them overseas or worse just put into storage

The Lord Ashcroft Gallery is home to the largest collection of VC’s and GC’s in the world. It remains open for just 10 more days. Visit while you still have the chance, and learn about the extraordinary people behind the awards.

20 minutes on hold to @EE trying to speak to someone because I can’t cancel my contract in any other way. And the hold music is horrific! I imagine that if I wanted to become an EE customer they’d not make me wait this long.

@RDPHistory Makes you wonder had the recce team been discovered by us if shots would have been fired or would it be brushed under the carpet as a spy exchange

2) Incidentally, they may - I stress may - have been trying to pick up a covert recce team on one of the outlying islands. They certainly had one at Lively Island just south of Stanley, during the war, which picked up a lot of intel first hand.

August 1st 1982: HMS Diomede intercepts a Polish flagged fishing fleet entering the Falklands Protected Zone: blatantly Soviet Spy trawlers with a death wish, come to see who's doing what. She quickly arrives and sends them packing, but Ivan is still taking a look at us... 1/2
