💯 The fix is to setup a system where Prime Farmland is protected the same as wilderness areas and make it so they can only be used for agricultural/horticultural type pursuits. The land values would drop like a rock so we'd need some type of compensation to make people whole and it wouldn't be cheap, but it would immediately fix the biggest problem in farming today: Fixing the old age issue in farming. Dropping land prices would get young people into farming who can then afford the land because the only people they would be competing with are also in Ag pursuits. There's a heap of young people out there who would love to get into farming, but it's effectively impossible as things stand.

Schimel tried with some success but still lost by ten points. The low propensity MAGA voters aren't going to turn out for conservative judicial candidates because they aren't conservative. They don't care about the same things. Ultimately, if you want to win these races, you have to claw back some of the suburban voters that have been lost and you have to avoid a referendum on Trump. The conservative candidate for major state wide office in WI has lost that referendum 10 out of 12 times since 2017.
