Due to the #CallahanFire, NV Energy has de-energized lines to keep first responders safe as well as prevent secondary ignitions. The outage is affecting approximately 5,500 customers. NV Energy is monitoring the situation to determine when it will be safe to restore power.

The #DavisFire started on Sept. 7, 2024, near the Davis Creek Regional Park southwest of Reno, Nevada. It burned burned a total of 5,824 acres of private, state, and federal lands, destroying two commercial buildings, 14 residences, and 22 outbuildings. Today, @MarkAmodeiNV2 and I got to visit Slide Mountain to see areas impacted by the #DavisFire. The work of our firefighters is heroic, and our emergency management partners have done incredible work mitigating the fire and its impacts.

.@JosephMLombardo has activated 50 MP/Transportation soldiers and military vehicles on state active duty orders for road closures and safeguarding efforts of neighborhoods affected by the #DavisFire. Aerial firefighters and handcrews remain activated.

@NVNationalGuard joined the response to the #DavisFire. They also have a hand crew, jointly with NDF on the ground. The State of Nevada is committed to a safe and effective response to wildfires. 🧵⬇️

The Nevada National Guard has been called to assist @NevadaForestry and overall firefighting efforts at the #DavisFire. The initial request is for handcrews and a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter when aerial firefighting resumes Sunday morning.
