Basically, the feedback I'm seeing is that they want to turn Marathon into Hello Kitty Adventures so that dads who play for an hour a day have a chance to beat Cryo Archive. Sacrificing the game's entire identity just to keep extreme casual players happy is a terrible idea.

@Invicta_D2 People are so used to not having a color palette outside of a desert in the games they play. The art style was actually the first thing that drew me into the game, I didn’t even know it was a game at first when I saw vague ads about it.

Streamed Marathon to one of my closest friends that I used to trio Trials with and he stopped watching within 5 minutes and just said it was ugly and that they should have made Destiny 3 instead. Does the art style really filter people that badly?

Seasonal declining population is totally normal but there's really nothing odd about the discussion unless you are talking about the weirdo doomers that celebrate games dying. The game clearly didn't sell *that* well and the player population is almost certainly a lot lower than most of us expected.

Another odd thing about the whole Marathon player population argument is, isn't a downward trajectory throughout the current season completely normal? I'm at a point where most of my upgrades are done, vault is full and wallet looks good, so my playtime is winding down. But when that wipe hits and new content drops for season 2 I'm looking to go all in again. Would love to hear from EFT/DF/Rust players?
