We’re actually dropping sanctions as I’m sure you saw. Because oil is a global commodity and we need to relieve price pressure.
There will be large global shortages of oil, food, helium, plastic chemicals, etc… in the coming weeks and months if things don’t get flowing again. Iran is fighting for their survival so not sure we can really hurt them here economically more than we already are by *killing* them.

I really don't know why we aren't doing the exact opposite and start our own blockade of tankers carrying Iranian oil. It's not like we have never had $100 oil before and did ok.
