Very little. The only Federal taxes low income workers really pay are payroll, which are meaningful taxes to be clear, but they go towards social security and Medicare.
If she’s been earning enough to pay a good amount of Federal income taxes then she likely has no excuse for being 52 with no savings.

I don't think this is true in practical terms FWIW. Elon's companies are irrationally valued due to *him.* It's a cult, justified or not, around the guy. If he has to continuously liquidate his positions that will:
1) Flood the market with a lot of new equity he's been hanging onto, pushing the price down.
2) Destroy the value proposition for a lot of retail investors since they are buying into his leadership, further eroding the companies.
You'd collect a lot less in revenue than you think by just taking the current-day value of his companies. This is broadly true of wealth taxes in general: one of the reasons American assets are so valuable is because we have strong rule of law and property rights here. If you start confiscating property from folks, the underlying wealth itself is destroyed largely as part of the process. Maybe you still think a wealth tax is worth doing despite its limited utility in raising revenue, but it's a major drawback.

They’re comparing its total valuation to Canada’s GDP, which is the total value of all the goods and services Canada makes in a year. If you add up all the companies in Canada it would be a more 1:1 comparison and would be more than SpaceX.
But it’s still impressive SpaceX is worth so much. There is a gigantic difference in value between American companies and the companies in the rest of the world despite the U.S. being only ~25% of global GDP. American companies are generally valued higher for being at the forefront of things and innovation.

I'm seeing a lot of fake information about a potential deal to reopen the Strait and end Iran's nuclear weapons program. First, the Iranians are not receiving any cash, and no funds are being released for simply signing a deal or attending a meeting. The deal is structured to ensure that the US and its allies concerns are prioritized, and that if the Islamic Republic of Iran meets its obligations, then economic benefits will flow to them and to the entire region. This deal has the potential to remake the region and lead to lasting peace. I've noticed a couple of bizarre things in the reporting over the last few hours. First, people who (rightly) said Donald Trump was a historic president a month ago now criticizing a deal based on unconfirmed media reports. Second, people who say you can't trust a word said by the IRGC who apparently believe anonymously sourced social media posts. The president is going to get us a good outcome, one way or the other.
