@birenball I think that’s extremely harsh. With 2 outs the first basemen’s instinct is to cover the bag. By the time he’s realizing where the throw is going there’s no way his reaction time is allowing him to do that.

Bad throw, but Vlad has to come off the bag here and catch the ball. The runner on third didn’t break. Would’ve preserved the lead.

That’s why it’s a little frustrating. A top-5 pick kickstarts a better youth movement and now that looks less likely. Woll definitely is the guy if you make a move, and even though he’s your best goalie if you can get younger especially on D in a trade I think you have to do it? Thats just my opinion though.

It’s tricky. I don’t think they’ll get anything for Stolarz or Hildeby because he’s so unproven. Woll would fetch something decent but he’s your best goalie if you want to try and be better next year. The best way to improve is to get a top 5 pick this year because potentially all of those guys could help next year, but that seems to be fading. This is why I think they’re much closer to a rebuild.

Even with Hildeby requiring waivers next year, the Leafs shouldn’t trade a goalie this summer. They’ll have plenty of cap space to carry 3 and the odds of injury are high. Goalies don’t typically bring back a huge return. They’ll all have more value on the roster. #LeafsForever
