@Denise_fergus Surely this guy went tooled up to damage deliberately. It doesn’t look as though the damage could be done on impulse using bare hands?

@RAC_Care We got him safely home our own way. Not a chance were we leaving him and the bike late into the night, to then find the time was going to be moved again.

Hi Nicky, please accept our apologies that this happened. Can I check that you are now safely at home or do you need me to get in touch with our breakdown team on your behalf? If you do please message me with your membership, bike reg and mobile, and I'll get onto that right away. Thanks, ^Cara

@MartinSLewis My older brother earns more than me, but we are still the products of our parents regardless of financial success. I wouldn’t deny him his half.

Today’s Poll: If a couple had two adult children - one financially very successful and one struggling - should their Will leave their estate 50-50, or divide it more based on need? Which comes CLOSEST to your view in this hypothetical?

The “violation” occurred at 12:40 am and was caused by falling snow which covered the parking permit on the inside of the windshield. Which would have been visible had the officer brushed off the snow. Should I fight it?

British people are made weary by relentless attacks on their ordinary everyday. Hard working people are being bled out by a thousand cuts: You can’t park here Permits only £20 for 5 minutes A new tax on this £8 for cheese No you can’t access your own money You can’t drive across your own city No hospital bed for your mum. The list goes on. And yet everyday, ordinary British people keep showing up - certain of a better time before. Everyday they hang in there, because they hold the secrets to a freer way of life, a life they want back for their kids. I see us become more determined. Unbothered by the little we might lose for the great things we need to regain. And I am certain we are winning. Freedom cannot be contained. It defies small minds and weak men. We have shown ourselves to be hardy. We are defiant. We have everything to fight for. This is the time to be alive good people. Hang in there. For in the end we win.

Very happy to read that 'hurkle-durkle', meaning to stay in bed *long* after it's time to get up, is being revived in current US slang, having lain dormant for 150 years! It's about time. lifehacker.com/entertainment/…

@Jayseaside Indeed, my 80 year old neighbour has a mobile, but not a smartphone and no access to the internet, she lives for Strictly, as an ex dancer, now she can’t vote. She pays her TV Licence, but is now being excluded. Really poor of the BBC. They are the ones that have kept it going.

#StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly You have just alienated a huge part of your audience by getting rid of the phone vote. I cannot imagine my elderly mother, & thousands like her, able to log on to register a vote on her favourite programme. Another strike against the elderly.

@LeeHurstComic Had similar, but in a different industry, if we didn’t show up, we weren’t going to win, got 24 hours notice and then had to pay £500 for the honour!

Many years ago They Think It’s All Over won one of these National Television awards for the second year running. They contacted my business partner and asked me to go and collect it. I declined, as had the others I assume. They then offered money to turn up. £2,500. I told my business partner that I would do it if they gave the money to the Liverpool Dockers who were on strike, this we got in writing. They sent a mini cab to pick me up at the Comedy Store in London where I was doing a show that evening. I was driven to the show in jeans and a lumberjacket shirt. A member of the production team for Have I Got News For You sarcastically pointed out that I had made the effort to dress up. I replied I’d only come to collect the award and was off to work at the Comedy Store. His face dropped as he thought they were in the running. I collected the award and went back to the Comedy Store. The following year they again asked me to collect the award for They Think It’s All Over, again I presume the other members of the cast had declined. I also declined as I had since left the show and thought it daft that I accept an award for a show I was no longer on. The following morning I was informed that mysteriously Have I Got News For You had been given the award instead My view from that point onwards was that perhaps the ‘viewers’ did not really decide the outcome. 😜😜😜
