Living too fast that I still have a 4-cup/day coffee habit. Living slow enough that I don't skip the blooming step of brewing coffee. Living responsibly enough that I drink enough water so that the diuretic aspect of coffee doesn't cause foot cramps.

Jim Parsons on the right looks like he released a single gloomy synth pop song in 1986 that was exclusively a hit in the UK.

It’s curious how I ended up photographing the Kowloon Walled City, along with co-author Ian Lambot. We ended up making the most thorough (and most frequently referenced) record of the place. Why didn’t any HK photographers concentrate their efforts on documenting the place? One reason is that every parent told their kids to stay clear of the place. The other, and maybe more important reason, is that it wasn’t considered a worthy subject. Had the Walled City lasted just a few years longer (it was demolished in 1993), I have no doubt that young HK photographers and filmmakers would have been all over the place. But it was erased just moments before HK woke up to itself. A generational change. The culture generation now values HK in a way the previous generations didn’t. “City of Darkness Revisited” will be republished later this year. Stand by for updates on pre-ordering! 1. If you come to Japan, you’ll probably end up eating at a chain restaurant that serves Japanese set meals. Yoshinoya Matsuya Sukiya Nakau Yayoi Ken Obon de Gohan Jonathan’s Gusto… There are so many options. I’ve tried them all, and honestly, they’re all good. But if I had to pick just one? Ootoya. It’s a chain that a lot of Japanese locals actually love. Real home-style Japanese food. Well-balanced, and genuinely delicious. My go-to is the “Kaasan Ni Set.” I’ve had it many times and keep going back to it. Most of these places are easy to find near major train stations. They’re affordable, filling, and a great way to experience everyday Japanese food. Which one would you try? Do you have a favorite Japanese chain restaurant?

@hhoppipollaa a lot of things in hamaguchi's film greatly improves upon murakami's text and this is one of those cases. the car was a character of its own, it gave us an iconic shot, its red popped in contrast with the grayness and melancholy of the road, basically immortalizing the saab 900
