Ever wondered why each year seems to go by faster and faster? I mean it’s already August for crying out loud. It’s a somewhat cruel phenomenon, and it’s because of how as we get older, each year represents a smaller and smaller percentage of our lives, so they seem to go by faster and faster. When you’re 10 years old, a year is 10% of your life (and really like 15-20% of your remembered conscious life). When you’re 40, a year is 2.5% of your life. The older we get and the less time we have.. the faster time seems to slip through our fingers. 1 hour car trips I took as a kid used to feel like they took foreeeever. Now they blitz by in no time. Summer vacation felt like a whole separate life in and of itself. Now, summer is another quick season and over before I know it. No real tips or life hack or point or anything to this tweet other than to share some thoughts on my mind, upon re-realizing it’s already freaking August 2023 🫠
