Rather than move forward with spinoffs that cling to the original The Lord of the Rings movies, maybe the time has come to give the franchise a full, Harry Potter-style reboot. bit.ly/4rY74wY

@JoaquinCastrotx ICE agents belong anywhere illegals are. You're braindead retarded if you don't understand that.
English

@Nerdrotics Huge disagree. I've skipped watching shows because they only had a couple episodes released with a weekly schedule, and I'll do it again I'm sure.
English

This is why Netflix should release episodes weekly.
The binge model is stupid.
What's on Netflix@whatonnetflix
In its first full week (Week 2 overall), One Piece Season 2 pulled in an additional 90.3M hours—a 33% drop from its opening week—translating to 11.1M views. B By our calculations, the sophomore season is currently tracking about 33% behind Season 1. Despite the dip, these numbers remain undeniably strong. 🔗 whats-on-netflix.com/news/top-10-re…

@NateForUtah @maddow Families don't need to be torn apart. They can be deported together.
English

Thanks to the @maddow for having me on tonight to highlight how ICE is terrorizing our community in Salt Lake City and across the country.
We need leaders who will stand up for our immigrant communities, listen to them, and take on the authoritarians like Trump who think they can get away with these atrocities. We don’t need more status-quo politicians like my opponent, Ben McAdams, who has been bought-and-paid for by the private prison industry and ICE contractors.
This new DHS facility (internment camp) moved forward without any community input. That’s not how democracy should work. We need systems rooted in compassion that create real pathways to citizenship, we need to abolish ICE and prosecute the folks responsible. The agency should lose any social license to operate for tearing families apart in our streets.
English

Last night, a flight I was on was late to deboard because a woman was being ripped away from her family by ICE in the middle of the airport. The cruelty we are seeing is pervading every corner of our lives, making travel terrifying and inefficient for all of us. Democrats must stay strong in refusing to fund ICE and go even further by abolishing it, while Republicans must come to the table, stop holding TSA and FEMA workers hostage, and pass a funding bill that doesn't exacerbate the harm we're seeing in our communities.
English

“It is time for Utah’s historic resistance to federal overreach to come out of its Trump-era slumber and make it clear that a giant ICE prison is not something we want built in our community or operated in our name,” writes the editorial board. sltrib.com/opinion/editor…

@SophiaNarwitz @TheCriticalDri2 My favorite thing about The Drinker is even though his content is often wrapped in culture war, it's also always an honest opinion. He appreciates talent, praises performances, and gives recommendations even when the content itself isn't necessarily something he himself enjoys.
English

I don’t watch much of @TheCriticalDri2’s content as I try to avoid culture war stuff when browsing YouTube (although we have ever so briefly spoken privately once or twice before and it was polite so I have no personal qualms with him) and just due to the nature of what he covers i think it’s understandable if people disagree with his views for one reason or another, but him being a straight male who is attracted to the blatantly intentional sex appeal added to the show shouldn’t be what irks you. People gotta stop villainizing straight male sexuality, especially as all other forms of sexuality are plastered everywhere. This makes me think of how Kotaku gets upset when a game caters to the “male gaze” with sexy ladies but then runs a piece by a gay guy about how he wants Leon from RE9 to fuck him…
Everyone is attracted to something, so if one form of (consenting adult) sexuality is permitted then so too should be other forms of (consenting adult) sexuality, especially if it applies to the majority of a population.

@taeoct6jr1 @Genki_JPN Pick any of the numbered games, assuming it's not X-2 or the sequels to XIII, and give it shot. It's not like Kingdom hearts, they're all self contained unless they share the same number in the title. Pick your favorite FF character from KH and play their game.
English

@Genki_JPN I’m ngl as someone who liked kingdom hearts I’d like to try final fantasy but there’s like 40 fucking games
English

Yoshi-P says it has become harder for younger people to engage with the Final Fantasy series because the release intervals for new titles have gotten longer!
"I'm 53 now, and I've been playing since Final Fantasy 1 in real time. But for younger generations – people who grew up naturally accustomed to action-based combat and online competitive play – the recent entries in the series may have been harder to engage with.
Part of that is simply because I'm sorry to say... the release intervals for new titles have gotten longer, so some players haven't really had the chance to connect with the series the way older fans did."

@MarinasHammer The clown show they put on is often good content though. Especially once law enforcement starts plowing the road, so to speak.
English

@KUTV2News How about we just take all the money given to illegals, and give it to law enforcement/ICE?
English

Concerns have grown over who will cover the cost of utilities and services at a warehouse the federal government plans to convert into an ICE detention facility, after Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall voiced opposition.

@UtahDemocrats Any immigration policy that isn't "deport all illegals" as a baseline is worthless.
English

Thank you to Senator Escamilla for highlighting the need for balanced immigration policy. The way we implement policy locally, the tone we set in our communities, and the priorities we choose matter.
Utah must focus on what we can do: demand transparency and accountability and approach immigration with compassion, respect, and practical solutions that reflect who we are as a state.

English

@UtahDemocrats Utah illegals deserve to get shipped the fuck back where they came from. Their families can stick together if they want to. Utah families do deserve safety, trust, and respect. Those three things can be obtained by removing people who should never have been here.
English

@MadamSavvy @powdury Yep. We went from "don't restrict people with gender stereotypes!" to "if you even have a slight interest in a gender stereotype that doesn't match your gender you must be trans!" in less than 10 years. Actually insane.
English

@powdury For me, it was
"gender stereotypes are like TOTALLY BAD, but hey i like all these gender stereotypes so that means im actually a woman!"

March is Women's History Month and Salt Lake County is proud to employ 4,152 women. Women represent nearly 50% of our county's population and we have a long history of supporting them in the workplace and in the community.
Salt Lake County is the only county in Utah where the mayor (or chief executive) and the majority of the council are women-leading the change and shaping a sustainable future. Our commitment to women and girls was strengthened last year, when we became the first county in Utah to participate in "A Bolder Way Forward."
We are profoundly grateful for the incredible women whose strength, passion, and leadership make our county an extraordinary place to live, work, and thrive!

@NormieUtah @livkellehernews This is just a case of kids doing something stupid. I don't think it has anything to do with the school really. Could have happened just as easily after school. That road being a piece of shit is an issue though.
English

@livkellehernews I learned just now, this very second, that high school students as young as 15 can just bounce during the school day.😵💫
English

I asked the school district if they would reconsider open lunch periods after nine students go into one vehicle, left campus, and got into a roll over accident during their lunch break. A 15-year-old girl was ejected from the car and has passed away.
Granite School District said “I definitely bet that is a topic that’s up for discussion but these are circumstances that a school can’t prevent.”
