It is with profound sadness that I regretfully confirm that OPP Sergeant Brandon Malcolm was killed in the line of duty along Highway 401 in Cobourg this evening. We honour his service and bravery as we grieve this tremendous loss. We extend our deepest condolences and mourn alongside his loved ones and OPP colleagues across the province. #HeroesInLife

Last night, our officers and Mounted Unit were out at the Canadian Tire Centre fan zone ahead of the @SensNews_NHL playoff game—connecting with fans, enjoying the atmosphere, and helping keep things safe for everyone taking in the excitement. As we head into Game 4 this weekend, we’re reminding everyone to stay safe, look out for one another, and plan for a safe ride home. Whether you’re watching at home, at a watch party, or heading to the game, let’s keep things positive and respectful. We may be down, but hold your horses… there’s still plenty of hockey left, and it’s not over yet! À l’aube du quatrième affrontement, nous rappelons à chacun de demeurer prudent, de veiller les uns sur les autres, et de prévoir un retour à la maison en sûreté. Que vous suiviez la partie à la maison, en covisionnement virtuel, ou dans les gradins, gardons l’esprit sportif, positif et respectueux. John Drader (West District) represented the Ottawa Police Service at the international CPTED Canada Conference in Toronto, sharing how our CORE strategy and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) are helping build safer, more resilient communities. ~ Deux policiers communautaires à l’échelle nationale 🇨🇦 Les sergents de police communautaire Sébastien Lemay (district central) et John Drader (district ouest) ont représenté le Service de police d’Ottawa à la conférence internationale de CPTED Canada à Toronto. Ils y ont présenté notre stratégie CORE et la Prévention de la criminalité par l’aménagement de l’environnement (CPTED), qui contribuent à bâtir des communautés plus sécuritaires et résilientes.

Our @OttawaParamedic are heroes. They step into difficult and unpredictable situations daily to protect and serve our residents. I'm grateful to each and every one of them for their courage, professionalism, and service to our community. We will continue to work together to ensure our paramedics, and all emergency personnel, are as safe as possible when they do their difficult work. Nos paramédics sont des héros.
