No women in the line up, yet the ANC has a history of self-correcting as far as women’s representation is concerned. So it’s quite interesting that ANC women don’t feature in discussions of the history of the organisation they served.

@sastrugglestory @LesothoJohn He was amongst those who implemented the Anti-Pass Campaign (Status & Positive Action Campaign) in PTA. Though their leg of the campaign was not big, Ntloedibe and a few of his comrades marched without Passbooks to Hercules police station. He was sentenced to 1yr. Released in ‘61

@sastrugglestory Ntloedibe spent a year plus in exile in #Lesotho (or, technically, colonial #Basutoland) as part of the #PAC in exile. He arrived in 1961 and received a British passport in Lesotho via the 1-year legal residency rule and then went to #Ghana to represent the PAC there in 1962.

@Odeeka1 The word in ancient language represents a crown. Cattle have horns and that is their glory. If you don't understand indigenous symbolism and culture you will be lost.

Listen to the voice of Sol Plaatje in this first recording of "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika", made on October 16, 1923, in London, England, by Sol T Plaatje himself, accompanied by Sylvia Colenso on the piano.
