The real axis of robotics is value creation per unit cost at scale. This is one of Brett’s fundamental flaw in thinking. It’s not about “GDP per humanoid” Figure plays a great theatrical game, but loses the plot in the process. Current demos with BMW show package sorting, and part manipulation which were already being done with a single flipper and single arm respectively. No demo they have shown comes close to requiring a fully human form factor. Robotic form factors must come from first principles: biomechanics, energy efficiency, emergent capability. Harmonic drives are not the final joint. Feet are not the peak of mobility. AGI and material science advancement will allow many form factors to outcompete in the many tasks of real world automation. R3D3 will change the game. The bullishness of “we have it figured out, we copied human” is literal Achilles heel we will strike to front run super abundance with class. Brett like other leaders speak of all data from their bots “feeding their mothership” 🤮🤮🤮 (Watch the video linked to Brett’s tweet where he directly names their plan) @spycrypto Summarized our Robotic Declaration of Interdependence perfectly. “We hold these truths to be self-evident: ✅That any code which governs human life must be inspectable by those it governs. ✅That black-box algorithms are a form of soft war. ✅That surveillance without consent is a slow genocide of free will.” The fact of the matter is dishes, laundry, cooking for you and your children don’t need “recursive AI improvement”. A “mothership” of constant data feed from your home robot is not a business advantage, it’s a control of humanity advantage. Embodied AI capabilities will not be dissimilar to deep seek / Groq / Llamma 4. Open access, and capable of said tasks. At Open Droids we believe privacy and sovereignty in robotics are not side principles. They are the central turning point for our species desired future. The true threat is not automation. The true threat is an unelected machine-state installed in the home. Our mission is precise. Strike the heel of centralized robotics and heal the world from systemic control. The battleground of the greatest threat to mankind’s freedom ever created is being fought today We will stop at nothing to ensure the narrative of aligning your family/household to a corporate-state mothership is so well known that the current leaders of this space heel to aligning with freedom. Consumer demand is the real game here, we may have lost privacy our first go round. WE CANNOT LOSE IT IN EMBODIED MACHINES May the best story win.

Human progress was measured in GDP per capita. The next era will be measured in GDP per humanoid

Robotics as a sector cannot thrive in crypto because the tech is hardware intensive and not naturally exposed to crypto upside. This is where equity anchorage becomes powerful. Using the ERC-S standard, companies can tokenize part of their equity and make it inherently valuable. Equity anchorage creates a path for unaligned industries to come onchain with high-value tokens that actually protect holders. @StreetFDN is pioneering a big shift. $STREET

AlohaMini wouldn’t exist without LeRobot. Thank you @remicadene for building such an inspiring open-source robotics framework. Using LeRobot, I built a dual-arm, 3D-printed robot with a lift — and now I’m open-sourcing everything too. GitHub: github.com/liyiteng/Aloha…

Memo for near-term home robots vs Figure is utility-first over human mimicry philosophy: - Wheeled base + lift column = passive stability, 5-10x longer battery life, no falling, far cheaper/safer than bipedal balancing act - Simple dual parallel grippers + elite software = delicate wine glasses & folded socks w/out fragile 20-DoF hands - skill-capture glove (exact gripper match) lets humans record data anywhere → 100x cheaper & more diverse than VR teleop on actual robots - ACT-1 foundation model trained purely on retargeted glove data already runs full kitchen cleanups autonomously in unseen homes Figure is building the sci-fi general humanoid. Sunday is shipping useful, affordable robots that actually work in real houses in 2026. Constraints bred better engineering.

@OpenDroids Seriously, when they make a domestic robot that can do "typical chores" at say 3-4x human speed, I'll be interested. Until then hell I'd push this thing aside and load it myself.

Great write up! On others utilizing loads of funds to build out production scale. We believe verticalizing in-house this early is a death sentence for distribution scale & speed. Not to mention company focus! —— RnD is ongoing for a step climbing base before we release a household model… Enterprises have much lower complexity for large scale implementation and are the beachhead for us! Disruption is coming to the robotics leadership narrative… Happy to answer any more questions. Mission wise we think you’ll be very aligned: The OSS future of the phones was failed. With arms and legs, we still have a chance.

Robot wars. The way this goes down will depend on: 1. Capabilities. 2. Price. 3. Manufacturing scale. Neo is $20,000. I bought one already. A simpler robot should be dramatically less. The other advantage that a humanoid with legs has is that it can get into a Robotaxi (Waymo and Tesla both will be in my neighborhood in next few months). I am starting a business in my neighborhood that depends on moving the robot around. A legged robot can get into a robotaxi and head to one of my neighbor's houses, so I can rent my robot out to my neighbors. I see that as being a popular new business for many to run. But impressive effort done on far less funding. Many will just want their robot to putter around the house doing simple tasks. If this is far less expensive than the Neo it will get customers. Either way, I'm impressed at what they've been able to build with far fewer resources. I assume the funding for @1x_tech is mostly about building a factory to make them at scale, which is highly expensive. Which gets back to the three points. Who can make a capable, generalized robot, at an affordable price, but do so at huge scale?

Twice the speed, 99.9% less funding... @OpenDroids wins
