My boss the CEO made the HR director come in when her heart surgery had to be canceled due to the anesthesiologist not showing up.
She died in front of me.
Slid off her chair and start convulsing. Dead. Her husband got an attorney that said .. sorry dead people can't sue.
Shitty morning that was. I left that job- psychopath.
Within hours he sent out an email telling us not to worry - he would have her position promptly filled.

Bill Clinton changed the unemployment metric in 1994 so it only measures people who looked for a job in recent weeks, rather than the total number of adults out of work. So the number is always like 4% even when a third of adults don't have a job.

@ReubenR80027912 They were literally insolvent but hold to maturity accounting rules let them pretend they weren't until depositors noticed. They had ~$20b in equity against ~$-30b in marked to market assets because their loans all lost value when interest rates went up.
