Wazz is wrong. The DeFi dream isn't dead because T-bill rates are compressing onchain. Here's the reality: The DeFi market is really in the beginning stages of its massive next era of growth, which is going to look different than the previous era. Sure, we still need to have great yields to compete with IBKR and others, but we're going to have an influx of new high-quality assets coming onchain in the next couple years. T-bills, private credit, tokenized equities, and more which will be looking for capital efficient ways to become more productive assets. This is the whole point of DeFi. Do more with your assets. This influx of newer, high quality assets will drive a ton of TVL growth for a lot of these protocols. Likely, tens of billions of dollars for each major player. Basically, what I'm getting at here is yes, DeFi yields are compressed right now, but the idea that trillions of dollars of capital and assets are coming onchain suggests this "dream" is far from dead.
