The annual Pendle Grade 9 Conference was hosted at @NelsonColneColl today. It was wonderful to see such skilled teachers leading bespoke & high level sessions for More Able students. Thank you to students and staff from @_CPAcademy_ @park_high_colne @WestCravenHigh 🧠 🎓

So what? 1. As a profession, we need to better define what 'challenging' learning is. 2. We should ensure all pupils are challenged, all pupils think hard and all pupils are subject to our unapologetically high expectations (that are specific to the individual child).

I meet lots of middle/senior leaders: common characteristics of those that really move T&L forward are: a) they urge people on, they bring energy; they’re demanding b) they do it in a way that motivates, inspires, fosters trust and respect c) they really know their T&L stuff!

Another thought provoking CPD this afternoon. A positive atmosphere whilst recalling literacy strategies and discussing the development of AfL across the school.

These excellent examples of workbooks and whole class feedback sheets were being used in Science and PE today. Great to see students getting more time to apply knowledge via the booklets. 👌 @PvcScience @PVC_Headteacher @PVC_Sport
