In two weeks I will be completing an endorsement that was more of a want than a need. I won’t get a pay bump. My role won’t change, but it could. I’m about to have a Master’s plus 57 hours of education and I’m proud of the fact I’m a life long learner. Never give up on yourself!

The English language does not have to be confusing for students. When teachers know how the language is structured they can teach about it. But, if teachers aren't taught about the language- things like phonics, phonemic awareness, and grammar, we can see where the gap starts.

Structured Literacy has many elements, alone they are pieces to a puzzle. Together, they make a strong reader! We will break down the elements in the coming weeks. We will also hear from individuals- why Structured Literacy is important to them, personally. Keep an eye out!
