@deforl @AndroidAuth I think they just want to lock the Chinese market out. None of the DJI apps are on the play store, so you HAVE to sideload them

@AndroidAuth I wonder why? Is it because it makes the freedom of Android not so free? Is it because they initially tried to just cut it off almost entirely unless you paid them money to dox yourself? I genuinely cannot believe why anyone wouldn't love Google's slop idea. Clowns...

@H9105346Holl @UniverseIce Google did make Nearby Share but they rebranded to Quick Share when Samsung dropped their version so users wouldn't get confused

@UniverseIce Samsung was already doing it back in 2012 with S Beam, but then in 2020, Samsung came along and invented Quick Share. It wasn't Android. I don't know how some people assume Quick Share was invented by Android when it was Samsung.

BREAKING! The Korean version of the Galaxy S26 series now supports AirDrop-style file sharing with Apple devices. No additional apps are required, and files can be transferred directly between devices.

@MetaVapour @no_more4t @NVIDIAGeForce The thing with DLSS SR is that it never generated anything additional that wasn't in the scene. FG has more interpretations and it resulted in some errors. I wonder how stable this kind of single frame generative AI upscaling will be

@no_more4t @NVIDIAGeForce Herein lies the issue with AI at it's core level. It's always interpreting. It's not consistent. Two different people. I even like AI. I think it has useful applications. This is not one of them.

Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi is essentially the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, but with several nice changes. What makes Leitzphone special: ✅ A customisable, rotatable camera ring ✅ Two Leica essential looks: M9 & M3 ✅ Several bokeh styles in portrait mode ✅ Some exclusive frames/watermarks ✅ CAI content credentials ✅ A more refined design But honestly, spending that much more is not worth it when you can buy the regular 17 Ultra. You'll get ~95% of the experience with the 17 Ultra.

Something that I noticed when testing the camera of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is how hazy and flat many of the photos are. This is even more noticeable when there are some bright light sources in the surrounding area. All of the camera lenses were squeaky clean, by the way. This does not happen with my vivo, OPPO, Xiaomi, realme, Honor, Huawei, or iPhone.

@sondesix The problem of Xiaomi skin treatment is shown by light. Is the skin treatment excellent? I hope you show us the comparison of skin treatment with iPhone.

@HarishPrabu22 @UniverseIce Yeah true but it's scummy that they've downgraded the cameras on older phones to push people to upgrade

@UniverseIce S26U's camera is mind-blowing. But the unnecessary hate it gets makes me feel weird. There are lots of improvements compared to my S24U, and results are pleasing and natural. The only flaw is the shitty 3x lens, which sometimes fails us.

I think the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is closer to the colors captured by Sony's professional cameras than the iPhone 17 Pro, what do you think? youtu.be/u2h8Ws0bSjg?si…

I compared the 30× telephoto performance of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S26 Ultra, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. It is quite clear that Samsung’s telephoto optimization has already reached its limit, and there is little room left for real improvements in image clarity. Under these circumstances, the S26 Ultra relies on heavier sharpening to make photos look “clearer.” At first glance the images may appear sharper, but the processing leaves obvious artificial traces and often makes the photos look unpleasant and unnatural. In this comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max performs the best. Its images look more natural and show no obvious signs of aggressive processing. The result suggests that Samsung’s telephoto development has reached a bottleneck. In that sense, the leadership changes inside the division may have been the right decision.

Unlike the Phone (3), the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro actually has a nice design to me. Still unique and "weird", but not too weird to the point that it becomes cheesy.

Most folks won't notice in casual use—eyes see ~10M colors max, and 8-bit + dithering simulates more pretty well. But true 10-bit delivers smoother gradients (no banding in skies/shadows), better HDR, and accurate colors for video/photo pros. That's the hype: rivals have native 10-bit; Samsung's FRC sim is close but not the same. Specs sell flagships.

Just received confirmation from Samsung - S26 Ultra has an 8 bit display, not a 10 bit display as we were originally told. That means it can only display 16 million colours instead of 1 billion, and just uses tech designed to "simulate 10 bit". Not a problem that's easy to notice when you're using it, but nonetheless this does put Samsung's display behind most current flagship phones for colour reproduction
