The snow has started. Please keep a safe distance from the plows as you travel. Please give them plenty of room as we work to keep the roads passable.

7PM: From Defiance to Sandusky, we're seeing snow. Here are views from plows in NW Ohio. They're among more than 400 out across the state right now. Please give them room to work. #ODOTwinter

A major winter storm will move into the region Wed, beginning with rain changing to snow in NW OH. The heaviest snow in NW OH is expected Wed-Wed night. Other areas will see mixed precip Wed night, changing to snow by Thu AM. Northern areas will see heavy snow on Thu-Thu evening.

We will be monitoring information from @NWSCLE and @ODOT_NorthCenOH as the storm approaches.

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM WEDNESDAY TO 7 AM EST FRIDAY Total snow accumulations of 9 to 14 inches for Erie County from 7 PM Wednesday to 7 AM EST Friday. Travel could be very difficult. Snowfall rates may exceed one inch per hour at times.

⚠⚠ A winter weather advisory is in effect for the entire area through the afternoon and evening. Snowfall amounts will generally be anywhere from 3 to 6 inches. Snowfall rates up to an inch per hour will be possible at times, resulting in hazardous travel conditions. ❄🌨
