@joncoopertweets @BryanInteriors Right, because oneof those guys had at least one blow job in the Oval Office. But of course you ignore that. And one had noidea where he was some days. Really classy stuff.

Imagine Trump ever being invited to join a photo like this — not in a million years. Four presidents. Zero drama. Just smiles, respect, and a shared love of country. 🇺🇸

@frombexley @worstall Exports are a cost, moron. They are domestic inputs consumed by foriegners. Increased exports means less domestic production for people in the UK to consume. Remainers are always so ignorant.

@PeterStefanovi2 Right. We are 6% of GDP poorer. £200 billion. Where? Where is this missing £200 billion from UK production? Utterly moronic.

@cjsnowdon The state should spend more in a few specific areas that I like & which sort of feel right to me & that will make everything right again. I am so clever!

@cjsnowdon Another mediocrity who thinks the solution to all our problems is to be just a bit more Left-wing. Where do they find these dummies?

@ElectionMapsUK Another by-election loss for Reform. We were told they were taking over, what a joke. They're losing these at a fair rate of knots.

@aDissentient Probably not. Markets are just unclear what is happening so people are selling - sell on rumour, buy on fact.

Latest Westminster gossip... Burnham PM Streeting Chancellor (who would at least be better for markets than...) Miliband shunted to MHCLG (but could he mess up housing as much as energy?) Healey back at Defence (Streeting's first big challenge - find more £ from welfare cuts)

@rcolvile @DavidDPaxton It may be a small part of it, but it's really not enough. Ownership rates are 7% lower than the peak in 2003 and only a few percent different to the early 1990s, I think. And what explains the absolute hammering of Labour and centrist parties everywhere else?

@moneyandflying @rcolvile I disagree. The tax trap is a symptom, not a cause. The Tories absolutely failed to stop spending. So every £ they gave somewhere they had to snatch back somewhere else.

@rcolvile The £100K trap is interesting too. Every time Tories increased the personal allowance, they also increased the 60% band, and their natural voters drifted away.

@rcolvile With the exception of Education, the Tories did the exact opposite of what the vast majority of Tory voters wanted them to do. And failed to convert a single non-Tory voter. Utterly bizarre.

It’s unusual for the governing party to increase its vote share in a midterm by-election. Maybe Keir Starmer isn’t as unpopular as the so-called experts say!

@rcolvile @griffitha @CPSThinkTank But to be even-handed, you must assess whether we have also reduced cost to the economy by e.g. reducing fraud, mis-selling etc.

@rcolvile And as Nobel laureates have shown, if you actually wanted a CO2 emissions policy that worked, you'd have a carbon tax. But we don't because having such a policy really isn't the point.
