Just got off the phone with @SecRubio He informed me that Nicolás Maduro has been arrested by U.S. personnel to stand trial on criminal charges in the United States, and that the kinetic action we saw tonight was deployed to protect and defend those executing the arrest warrant This action likely falls within the president’s inherent authority under Article II of the Constitution to protect U.S. personnel from an actual or imminent attack Thank you, @SecRubio, for keeping me apprised
Mike Lee@BasedMikeLee

I look forward to learning what, if anything, might constitutionally justify this action in the absence of a declaration of war or authorization for the use of military force

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio Always done research but one is limited to the availability of information. It's a low blow to say I didn't if it doesn't comply with your opinion. Context: the first main European reactions were that Putin would be celebrating if Trump is allowed to do everything he can as well

@ED3LM4N @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio Of course it's partially about oil, Maduro stole the oil industry from the people, including US assets and investments into the industry. It sounds like you're actually starting to do the research. I compliment you for that. Share the article please, we can translate it

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio Read an interesting article about the impact for Putin of the raid in Venezuela. Unfortunately only in Dutch so can´t share it. Looks like there´s a lot more strategy behind it. Still about oil, but perhaps not such a bad move after all. Still hoping for the best for Venezuelians

@ED3LM4N @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio Like I said, Iraq was a completely different situation. However, it did create a better situation. Maybe not as fast as you would like, but again Panama is almost exactly like what happened in Venezuela. It doesn't that you read the UN report that I provided

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio Point is that the mission in Iraq didn´t create a better situation. As I said these countries are ruled by chaos and if there´s nobody to master the chaos it erupts. We had to go back and clean up the mess cuz they were attacking us. Of course they´re almost gone now.

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio I don´t know enough about Panama but I hope you´re right about Venezuela going that way if it´s for the better Iraq has been hopeless since ´the West´ invaded Creating room for groups such as ISIS isn´t exactly being more stable or being better off The aftermath has been dramatic

@ED3LM4N @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio The better comparison is Panama. Almost the exact say scenario including the UN condemning the US for taking Noriega. Bounty, indicted in the US, invaded and captured their leader, now they are a thriving democracy. Iraq is also way better off and more stable

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio Read it. Doesn´t look good for these people. Countries like Venezuela are in too much chaos to find a quick solution. They´re often ruled by the ones that have most control over the chaos. It was bad before but take away the (cruel) leader and it doesn´t get any better. Cfr Iraq

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio The news today: - Thousands are in the streets of Venzuela protesting the kidnapping of president Maduro - Trump to have meeting with US biggest oil companies to dig for Venezualas oil - The UN says the Venezuela mission was illegal cuz of art. 2 And I was the one that was lying?

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio Yes they misled a lot of countries with false proof that time. If the warrant says there´re WMD and there aren´t, the US warrant is as wrong as anybody elses. If in a few months time there isn´t an improvement of drugs being kept out of the US the warrant for Maduro was incorrect

@ED3LM4N @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio You mean like the time that the vast majority of countries supported and provided material support to invade Iraq? The only law that matters to the US is US law. So yes, a warrant by the US is correct and factual to the US

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio As if a warrant by the US to invade a country is a correct factual basis. Like that time they invaded Iraq because their factual basis was Iraq had WMD. Not because Sadam started selling oil in other currencies than US Dollars of course. A factual basis by the US is often wrong

@ED3LM4N @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio You're making an assumption of the motive to capture him... I have the facts, not assumptions. There has been a warrant out for his arrest for 6 years, no where in the warrant does it say it's for oil

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio I consider some of the things that he does as good, some neutral and some bad. Tarrifs on goods coming from the other side of the world = good. Capturing somebody to steal his oil but blame it on drugs = bad. Supporting the KC Chiefs = bad. I didn´t bring in any other presidents

@ED3LM4N @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio You're looking at what he did but you're not thinking critically, you support other presidents doing a very similar thing multiple other times but you have to lie in order to try and create a difference

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio When are you going to realize I supported Trump for ending the de minimis exemption on goods coming from China? As I told you I don´t care who your president is. I´m looking at what he does. The way he got Maduro is considered illegal by most of the world. I can´t change that

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio There were tons of official congratulations coming from countries around the world when they caught him. Even Pakistan helped the US to catch him. Are you saying there wasn´t a vast majority that was behind the US catching him? In what universe did that happen?

@Phoenixryan14 @manny_theeman @mdrew4nh @BasedMikeLee @SecRubio Who says i´m against capturing drug traffickers? I just said it was done in a legal way to capture UBL and in an illegal way to capture Maduro, which makes your president a criminal in a lot of countries. Netanyahu and Putin both are as well. But do you believe they care? I don´t
