@City_Xtra@RadioestadioN We’ve been negotiating a contract extension for nearly 2 years. If he was gonna sign, he’d have signed by now! He’s nearly 30, had a significant injury - time to cash in and move on, as painful as that is to say.
Rodri: "I have one year left on my #ManCity contract. At some point we'll have to sit down and talk… Even though I've played for Atleti, [Real] Madrid isn't a closed door for me - you can't turn your back on the best clubs…” [via @RadioestadioN]
@LeeHall1977 He’s played well for our u21s since coming back, scoring and assisting loads, but it’s hard to judge against that standard. I think he would’ve been a handy sub for you as he’s clearly got ability.
Sky just showed Nypan sat in the stands at Wembley. Forgot all about him. Made me wonder could he have played a part for us during the run in? Did we make a mistake sending him back to City? Especially when we’re struggling for impact players from the bench right now.

@Pitched_Mike@goatersmotors Makes me laugh when we play 4 or 5 'risk' passes to get away from our own defensive area only to see ustapping it sideways and backwards whilst our forwards are making runs.
I have fully lost my head after that. I absolutely hate watching this team play football. Boring, depressing football. No spark, no magic, no excitement. Average players fulfilling average tactics. Fuck off.
@StevenMcinerney You’re not overthinking it. It is exactly that - 2 conflicting styles wrestling in this team - and they are opposed so much that neither is able to come to the fore. Just a mangled mess of physical / counter attack / control. Not one style is clear and the team can’t function
Do sometimes wonder if the compromises Pep is trying to make to match the physical intensity of the league are just a little too incompatible with his ideals. It just feels like this City side have to put in an absurd amount of effort in to create chances. It doesn't feel comfortable. There's just lots of friction between the two approaches. Dunno, maybe I'm overthinking it.
@goatersmotors It’s almost like he’s brought in Pep Ljinders knowing he has to change but doesn’t really know what to do or how to do it - or want to fully change, either. The league’s overall quality has risen, coupled with our best players and leaders leaving, so he just has no answer.
@Pitched_Mike There’s just nothing happening. It’s aimless football. Where has Pep’s football gone? The passing patterns, unlocking teams, moving them around. Disappeared. We probably don’t have the players for that now, so let’s just go direct. Properly go at teams. A bit of courage.
@goatersmotors No balls over the top. No cut backs. No crosses of note. Just pass sideways and recycle. It’s beyond frustrating and Haaland must be going out of his mind. Might as well play with false 9 if this is the tactics from Pep - and it has to be him dictating this style, right?!
@Pitched_Mike All I want is to watch them put Haaland in. Quick turnover, get it to him quickly either in behind or isolating a centre back. We played him in once tonight. Best striker on the planet and we’ve completely nullified him.
@notreallyere Playing Semenyo and NOR as 10s with our actual 10 on the bench. It’s becoming unbelievable. Whats Nico Gonzalez done to deserve his treatment? He’s leaving his best players on the bench and we’re not winning.
@StevenMcinerney Been over for weeks if we’re really honest Steven. They’ve stumbled over the line in recent games. There’s also no chance in hell this team scores 3-4 goals vs. Madrid, so we can chalk that one off too.
@alexquintani11a@StevenMcinerney How can a guy who is 6ft 5in not dominate the air? Just jump properly and you’d be a foot above everyone else! Instead he just stands still a reaches. Woeful stuff
@Pitched_Mike Yeah, let it go. Move on. Still plenty of games left. Let millwall feel the pressure of second if they win later. Pressure off us at least then.
Caught most of the game last night, but was highly distracted as I was at the hospital (all good)... everyone's thoughts on it? We looked ace from what I could gather. Loads of energy and dynamism.
