Sunday Thoughts: Justin Trudeau's Post Nation State Pt 1;The Bastardization of a Nation
Hello everyone, how are you all doing this week? Another Sunday arrives, and another week goes by. Ever since Justin Trudeau uttered the phrase “Post National State” it's irked me, obviously this tool has no knowledge of the words he is uttering, nor the meaning and intentions behind such a phrase, for he is a tool, an implement to convey messages to the Nation he governs at the behest of those whom pull his strings. That is not the point though, a puppet is merely strung along as a marionette by the pied pipers who sway his limbs to and fro. One would think that in order to understand what a “Post National State” is, we have to understand the meaning of every word used in this phrase.
What is a State? When we briefly look up the words Etymology we come upon the following description; “[mode or form of existence] c. 1200, stat, "circumstances, position in society, temporary attributes of a person or thing, conditions," from Old French estat "position, condition; status, stature, station," and directly from Latin status "a station, position, place; way of standing, posture; order, arrangement, condition," figuratively "standing, rank; public order, community organization.”” The root of State being the Latin word stā; “to stand, set down, make or be firm," with derivatives meaning "place or thing that is standing.” Furthermore we can see that the word State also means “political organization of a country; supreme civil power, the government; the whole people considered as a body politic," 1530s, from special use of state (n.1); this sense grew out of the meaning "condition of a country" with regard to government, prosperity, etc. (late 13c.), from Latin phrases such as status rei publicæ "condition (or existence) of the republic.” So a “state” can be defined as a body of individuals who comprise the collective mass of humans who occupy a physical area of land, with common language and culture.
What is a Nation? Again when looking up the words Etymology the information given is, “c. 1300, nacioun, "a race of people, large group of people with common ancestry and language," from Old French nacion "birth, rank; descendants, relatives; country, homeland" (12c.) and directly from Latin nationem (nominative natio) "birth, origin; breed, stock, kind, species; race of people, tribe," literally "that which has been born," from natus, past participle of nasci "be born" (Old Latin gnasci), from PIE root *gene- "give birth, beget," with derivatives referring to procreation and familial and tribal groups.” What's interesting here is the root word “gnasci”. What is the definition of “gnasci”?
gnāscī
Inflection of gnāscor (present active infinitive)
nascor
I am born, begotten
I arise, proceed
I grow, spring forth
So we can define a Nation State, so far as the standing existence of a collective of people begotten by their parents, i.e. the people who birthed them.
What is the etymology of the word Post(the operative word in the phrase we are discussing)? Now of course the English language is a funny thing, and there are many meanings attributed to a single word, but of course in this specific phrase, post is referring to “afterwards”, not a post used to construct a house. So with that in mind, we arrive at, “word-forming element meaning "after," from Latin post "behind, after, afterward," from *pos-ti (source also of Arcadian pos, Doric poti "toward, to, near, close by;" Old Church Slavonic po "behind, after," pozdu "late;" Lithuanian pas "at, by"), from PIE *apo- (source also of Greek apo "from," Latin ab "away from" see apo-).” Lets focus on that Latin word “apo” meaning; “Old English of, unstressed form of æf (prep., adv.) "away, away from," from Proto-Germanic *af (source also of Old Norse af, Old Frisian af, of "of," Dutch af "off, down," German ab "off, from, down"), from PIE root *apo- "off, away."”
So Justin Trudeau's Post Nation State is defined as, being away from the standing existence of a collective people begotten by their parents? What's the purpose of such a state of existence? These are just my thoughts, I am wondering what the goal of implementing a “Post Nation State” upon the existing Nation of the Dominion of Canada is, what's the purpose of this? Have a nice Sunday yall and a great productive week!
