Covid at-home test: $25 Minimum wage: $7.25/hr So, 3 1/2 hours of work at minimum wage to afford an at home test. That’s half a day’s earnings. Free public testing: 2 1/2 hr wait in line That’s $18 lost wages assuming someone can take off work to stand in line.

The ongoing history of Black & Indigenous resistance to white settler colonialism is actively suppressed to maintain a narrative that white colonizers granted us freedom & that we must peacefully petition them via the system they established if we hope to achieve racial equality.

@neilpearce53x Why isn’t A an effect modifier? I do agree it may not be causal, but won’t it exist?

@ProfMattFox But A is a confounder not an effect modifier. Effect modification is not easy to show in DAGs in part because it may not be causal e.g. if the risk difference is not modified but the risk ratio is

@SpireSec I’m not sure I agree that the risk is much higher with familial contact. We spend lots of time with family in close contact so the risk is higher because of time. But per contact, what’s the evidence that familiar contact is higher risk?

@ProfMattFox The dynamics are much trickier than that, especially when you consider the effect that locking down nursing homes had. And with lockdowns lifted, there are people attacking others in grocery stores for not wearing masks when the risk is much lower than familial.

@epi_punk That’s why I did the poll. I always thought it was warm or hot but CDC says temperature isn’t important!
