Shoulder Joint Impingement: Gurus and unfortunately surgeons think the upper arm (humerus) can impinge with the Acromion of the scapula bone when pitching a baseball. According to the gurus, the shoulder is most vulnerable to impingement when the arm is at 90 degrees of abduction and the scapula has not rotated sufficiently  Shoulder joint abduction moves the Humerus bone from hanging vertically downward to horizontally even with the height of the shoulders.  In this position, the head of the Humerus bone is nowhere near the acromion process of the Scapula bone.  The rotational position of the Scapula bone does not change the positions of the head of the Humerus bone and the acromion process of the Scapula bone. What most pitchers don’t understand is that their arm can’t go above 90° Thoughts and prayers for Trey Yesavage. Trey is close, but close doesn’t count when pitching a baseball

@Dan67030066 @SenTuberville The key word is legally. Republicans used to believe in the free market. In America Now they do what an orange faced buffoon from NYC tells them to do. At least in ALABAMA

@Pronate @SenTuberville You wouldn’t be able to transfer between 5 direct competitors in 5 years in the private sector. Legally yes, but you wouldn’t get hired after your second job.

My NIL bill is simple. You get five consecutive years to play five seasons with one free transfer. If you choose to transfer again, you sit out a year. Proud to be leading the charge to SAVE COLLEGE SPORTS.

@BaseballDudes48 I do like BBS (Base on Balls that Scored). With the velocity obsession nowadays it can be helpful to point out that, for example 8 of the 12 runs you’ve given up so far got on base from a free pass. Makes it real for the kids.

Soooo… Based on a couple scorekeeping posts today it seems pretty obvious most scorekeeping rules are misunderstood, completely unknown, or possibly scored incorrectly on purpose causing drama in many situations. With that said, this brings up the question, is it even worth it keeping them if they aren’t going to be correct anyway and cause unnecessary drama??

"When you see Cam Schlittler come on the bump for the New York Yankees, you know they're going to win" - @SamLuckiniESM on the FSY Podcast He's got a 2.01 ERA in his last 10 starts and the Yankees are 8-2 in those games 🔥

@FiresideYankees Pretty nice. Someone has to tell Matt Blake that Randy Sullivan had Fransy Bosch ‘discover’ hip/shoulder separation is BS.

@RobertStock6 Unlike you Mike Elias actually visited Zephyrhills He should know teams don’t need 13 pitchers. They never listen.

An extended pitching roster makes pitchers more effective. Means you see less of the headline pitchers and more no-names. And you have to pay more guys. Three things that are at odds with what leadership wants. (I’m not judging, just explaining)

Orioles pitching coach Drew French when asked if teams should be able to carry more than 13 pitchers on the active roster: “I've never understood why a GM and a manager can't make the roster what they want the roster to be.”

How about this… Asked a kid I work with (with his mother present) if he’s ever played a full game. Meaning no time limit and a full 6+ innings. They said no. He’s now 13 and has never played a full length game. Literally every hame he’s ever played has been on a time limit. Interesting where the youth game has gone.

@TJStats A 3400 spin on a Curveball is outstanding until you look at the HB I’ve warned anyone who cares to listen about what’s in store for Nolan McLean. They never listen. There’s zero excuse for what’s in store for Mr. McLean.

@protocol_nash @EricCressey Of course, hip/shoulder separation reduces power so, reduces velocity. But, I have to admit, it does injure pitchers. EC chooses injury over velocity. I don’t.

@EricCressey Hip-shoulder separation depends so much on neuromuscular timing that recovery directly changes the pattern. Athletes lose that back hip load on days with poor sleep or low hydration. Best coaching cue can't override a nervous system that isn't ready to fire.

In continuing with our mini-series on medicine ball mistakes, here's one of the big ones we see with rotational drills. In the first video, you'll see the athlete loses the back hip load early, and his center of mass leaks forward too soon. The end result is a "late" arm action and poor leg leg block. It's also typically going to deliver more spine stress (more lateral flexion). In the second video, we've cued him to simply keep his head behind his belly button longer. In doing so, he holds his back hip load and allows hip-shoulder separation and a powerful lead leg block to occur. Thanks to @ALysyStrength for the demo! #cspfamily #medicineball
