Stupid! The National & Official language of The Islamic Republic of Bangladesh is Bangla, not Urdu. Violent Anti- Urdu Language riots by Muslim Bangladeshis, occurred throughout East Pakistan on 19.3.1948, the day Jinnah landed in Dacca, in his only visit to East Pakistan in his entire lifetime. It was Bangla( favoured, spoken by Bangladeshis) Vs Urdu that caused riots, throughout the short period that East Pakistan existed. It was later taken up by Mujib- ur - Rehman, & one of the 2 main reasons fr secession.
And some additional info- the mother tongue & language spoken in most current Pakistani homes is Punjabi( 45% ). Only 7% of current Pak households speak Urdu. Urdu is widely seen even in TODAY'S Pakistan as an INDIAN language imposed on Pakistan, at independence by Quaid-E-Azam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Atleast check basic truths, before posting. 🤦

Pakistan has institutionalized Urdu, which led to ethnonat movements, incl separatists (best case being 1971 Bangladesh), and is now internationalizing Urdu, but some online culture warriors will gatekeep it & make us believe Yogi is more "legitimate" to "own" it than Iqbal/Faiz.

@RadhikaBarman5 Even muslims. I remember meeting a classmate whos family was from the same village as my father, so when I met his mom I mentioned my dada's name, which included an atraf (non-landowning muslim) title and her face comically turned from happiness to disgust. (she was a syed btw)
