CSIR-Central Road Research Institute New Delhi, in collaboration with CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum Dehradun, has developed and transferred an innovative Bio-Bitumen technology based on pyrolysis of agricultural biomass. Technology transfer agreements signed today in the presence of Hon'ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare Sh Shivraj Singh Chouhan (@ChouhanShivraj ) between CSIR and industry partners including Bitumix India LLP (Assam), GK 91 Bioeconomy Pvt Ltd (Maharashtra), Jainsons India (Uttar Pradesh), Straw Biofuels (Punjab), Torchtar Membranes & Bitumen Products Pvt Ltd (New Delhi) & others—converting crop residue into wealth, reducing stubble burning, and promoting green road construction. A perfect example of innovation -led, industry-driven solutions for #WasteToWealth & #AtmanirbharBharat.

At the ‘Bio-Bitumen Technology Transfer’ event organised by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research #CSIR, felicitated farmers from across the States. They are the agriculture pioneers adopting new technologies like these, generating income by turning waste to wealth, and also creating awareness among other farmers about such wonderful indigenous innovations.

Minister of State for Science & Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh stressed that in the Indian context, abdominal or central obesity is a greater risk factor compared to overall obesity, where even lean and thin-looking individuals often carry significant visceral fat. Releasing a comprehensive Textbook of Cardiology titled “Advances in Obesity and Lipid Management in CVD” in New Delhi, @DrJitendraSingh said, central obesity, even in apparently non-obese individuals, predisposes them to a wide spectrum of metabolic disorders, including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, fatty liver, and lipid disorders, among others.

Pleased to release the book titled “Advances in Obesity and Lipid Management in Cardiovascular Disease” edited by eminent Cardiologist Dr H K Chopra. "There is sufficient evidence to show that Central obesity, even in apparently non-obese individuals, predisposes to a wide spectrum of metabolic disorders including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, fatty liver, dyslipidemia etc. In other words, Abdominal or Central obesity is a greater risk factor compared to overall obesity, particularly in the Indian context where even lean and thin-looking individuals often carry significant visceral fat. There is a need to reiterate the importance of balanced health practices without overdoing, with emphasis on sustained lifestyle discipline, adequate sleep, and scientifically guided preventive care. All this is aligned with PM @narendramodi 's call for increased public awareness about obesity, and his advice to reduce oil consumption".
