The Canadian government persuading Canadians of NOT travelling to the USA is just another form of psychological LOCKDOWN. Think about it. The United States is a beautiful place ✊🏼

I know a lot of people don't love the work of lawyering, but I do. The reading, writing, and research that forms the foundational basis for litigation (and much of the work that I do) brings me so much joy. That being said, the profession has its downsides. For example, there's no need to be rude and unnecessarily aggressive with opposing counsel in order to be a committed, dedicated, and effective advocate. This happens far too often, and is behaviour which is disproportionately directed at women, junior, and BIPOC lawyers. It's not ok, and it should not be tolerated. There are also far too few people out there willing to intervene when this kind of behaviour occurs in their presence, but is not necessarily directed at them. That needs to change. See something? Say something. We can all work to make the legal profession a better place.

Take a moment to reflect on the fact that the Charter rights that Premier Moe wants to override are the Charter rights of children. Say it out loud: The Charter Rights of Children.

@jordanbpeterson @JustinTrudeau Not sure that I understand how @JustinTrudeau has any control of the decisions of a self-regulating body governed under a provincial statute. Surely that’s under provincial (conservative) jurisdiction? Maybe you can help my fragile little woman self understand. 🙃

I do this all the time. It really does make a difference, but it absolutely shouldn’t.

@loridoryboat I think that’s true! One explanation is that meat is $$$$. My folks in NL are eating more wild game and less store bought meat for this reason. Also, veg options when eating out are becoming more tasty and plentiful for all!

I can’t emphasize enough how badly Elizabeth Fry needs core, stable funding and the immense impact we could make in our community if we had it. Community-based services are better for EVERYONE, taxpayers included. We are so much better at this work than the jails.

what we can do a better job at is delineating to the public the difference between individual risk and population health risk. omicron may be less severe at an individual level, but it can wreak havoc at the population level when there’s severe staff shortages at the hospital.
