@QuicksFadely i mean im in the camp of its a game mechanic so in any version of the pokemon universe i care about they can just use any moves they can learn at any time so ive never tried to find a way for that to make sense

@Radimierx It's just kinda weird that Pokemon can just "forget" moves they learned just cuz they learned new ones. Like, mechanically it makes sense. But how does that work in universe?

@Radimierx @Sam_Nah_cool I mean it kinda works like that in game now. Since gen 8, you have access to all the moves your mons have learned and can rearrange their movesets whenever outside of battle.

@Radimierx @Sam_Nah_cool I like to imagine it's like some sort of natural/instinctual force that applies to all Pokemon. That would explain why it also happens in wild battles. This fact would be known in universe, hence why trainers only call out 4 moves.

Not an unpopular opinion on Meowth himself, but his existence quite literally proves that Pokemon's minds works very similar to humans
Interpreting them as sentient monsters who simply use a different language is a lot more interesting than them being animals with powers
