@MWeltallMkV I mean, a lot of OVAs from the 80's are VERY anti-corporate and studios while getting money to make these things look great. I think people forget about the cynicism behind OVAs. Anime isn't "woke", I agree, but progressive politics exist in parts whether we like it or not.

@B_Rabbit843 I always liked Dragonball: Evolution in an ironic sense since its release. I find it a hilarious adaptation. Also, it pisses people off when you say you like it; it's a litmus test, really. You can like BAD things and still can have a great media palette. Notice I said "can". Heh

90% of Eva fans completely freeze up when you ask them HOW Eva is a deconstruction. The 10% that can speak only demonstrate abject ignorance like "The characters are realistic, not Gary Stus like Amuro Ray."

@mechaconfess What everyone forgets is MECHA IS THE MOTIF. the technology is the backdrop for the politics, ethical discussion and situational allegories that surround the atmospehere. Mecha is inherently anti-war and political.
