@JayeJaybird54 @beachblond52 I grew up in that era. Graduated in 67. I protested so many causes over those years. Women's rights, Vietnam, and in my neck of the woods, David Duke and civil rights. And now here we are doing it again.

@JayeJaybird54 Remember Helen Reddy’s song “I Am Woman”? I graduated high school in 1971; signed up for the Navy 1972 but couldn’t go active til 1973. That song has been my anthem for decades! Time to reactivate it, I think! “I am woman, hear me roar in numbers too big to ignore”

@JayeJaybird54 I graduated a couple of years before you. We were angry, we marched and protested for our rights. We will not watch our children and grandchildren drug screaming back into the 50s. Gen Z has the same fire we carry for equality. We will roar together.

The year I graduated from high school (1972), Bella Abzug said “Women have been trained to speak softly and carry a lipstick. Those days are over.” But how far have we really moved the needle? We’ve made great progress but “we ain’t done yet”! And I don’t know about the rest of you, but I choose to yell!
