The entire government's yearly budget is not even enough to pave one inter-city highway ($1b), and 60% of that tiny budget is foreign funded. Banadir's 2025 budget was $100m.

This type of stuff can only be seen in Somalia, the people clearly have the taxable wealth to fund infrastructure and more, but there's no real government to tax or build anything. May God help us.

@hornaristocrat The government should establish enterprises in minerals, fisheries and oil and store the profits in a national fund, then abolish tax for the most part anyway. For the short term though I agree, tax the foreign businesses a fair amount but leave most citizen’s income tax alone.
