Property Taxes are out of control and Relief is overdue! The House was able to at least pass a relief bill, but the Senate wouldn’t have anything to do with it. We still have special sessions coming but… Another Option - bring this issue straight to the people. On April 1st, 2026 I announced an effort to pass a citizen constitutional amendment that bans ad valorem taxes on real estate levied by any level of government. Tuesday I had the privilege of representing Marion County at the White House State leadership conference for Florida. Friends, it is true, the rest of this nation depends on and is watching what-Florida-does.

Property Taxes will be Gone for Good - Let's keep driving! I'm thankful for the Governor (@RonDeSantis) and the Speaker of the House (@Daniel_PerezFL) for helping drive the property tax conversation in 2026. If we can get something on the Ballot - I'm all in. But if we can't.... We must continue to drive this conversation forward until property taxes in Florida are GONE for GOOD.

Time to ELIMINATE Homestead Property Taxes! > Last year Florida collected roughly 18 billion dollars through liens on our residents’ primary home. > In just the past 4 years, property tax revenues have increased by almost this amount. > So if all we did was quickly ELIMINATE homestead properties from the tax roll, we would just be taking us back to the same revenue levels of a few years ago. > It’s almost embarrassing that any elected official would ever be against this.

No More Property Tax - Local BUSINESS should not have to pay rent to the government either! Government should not LIEN your property. If you've owned a business for the past 30 years why in the world are you still required to pay property taxes. There is a BETTER WAY to generate the revenue rather than you renting your property from the government. The PLAN - Rollback, Eliminate, and then Replace with a better transactional system. All while providing the largest TAX cut in history and allowing Florida to be the 1st state where you can truly own your property!

Property Taxes are Killing the American Dream! It wasn’t too long ago that the average age in Florida for a first-time home buyer was 29 years old. Today it is over 40 and rising. And with Property Taxes having risen by over 50% just in the last 4 years, it is going to become even more difficult in the future. I was proud to stand and say what many Floridians already know. The increase in local government spending is out of control and the solution is right in front of us. Reduce and eventually eliminate property taxes, and let the tourists and new movers pay for it. My remarks here are in support of @RepMoniqueM legislation, which would eliminate property taxes on homesteads (except for the taxes levied by school districts). This is a powerful step in the right direction. My legislation would be a COMPLETE elimination of property taxes, with an appropriate replacement through other revenue collection, and I truly believe this is where Florida is headed. We cannot continue to allow a system of taxation that takes your property if you can't pay the taxes. Under that system, we are mere renters, and government is the ultimate owner of our property. That is simply unacceptable and un-American, and it's certainly now how things should be done in the Free State of Florida. Consider the data. Local government revenue has outpaced personal income by 2 to 1. That’s totally unacceptable. We must start cutting now and pursue full elimination of property taxes. This is the start of a new era for the State of Florida. #EndproptertyTax
