@RewildScotland Continuous assessment benefits kids coming from houses with books and highly educated parents and tutors and tech savvy people. In fact the SQA will soon be forced to reduce continuous assessment by universities.

@RewildScotland Also - as you will realise - continuous assessment massively advantages the middle class.

@RewildScotland They could not replace the Highers and Advanced Highers with continuous assessment and expect unis to agree. In any case they won’t be in power so it won’t happen. Good young voter bait though.

@RewildScotland Arguably. In fact AI will mean a return to exam diets in halls. And they would NEVER be able to get agreement from HE institutions outside Scotland.

Continuous assessment is a better way of measuring a pupil’s understanding. Clearly before removing the outdated exam system they would need to agree with universities the evidence that would need to be gathered. Arguably it would be a better guide to their likely success at Uni and life.

@RewildScotland That’s absolutely true. But - since the Greens by and large are not headlining it as an issue - it’s never going to be one of the electorate’s top 3 concerns in this election.

My grandson came home yesterday and told his mum that they had a lesson on muslims, and their religion in school that day. Today, my family decided that as Christians, catholics, and with Jewish relatives as well as women's rights activists aplenty within our family, this was not appropriate, needed, or wanted. Monday, the head teacher will have a complaint she never imagined, she will never forget and will never wish repeated.

@ScottishSuffra1 @RewildScotland As someone raised Roman Catholic I can't help but laugh at this. You ever read the bible hun? Have you not also seen the Christian teachings used for evil? Has the organised church not also played a villainous role in history? We need to teach critical thinking and world faiths.
