@cozwva You were too good for this world; the leader it needed, but not the one it deserved.

@Will_Tanner_1 Many people cannot comprehend a just hierarchical nation and real aristocracy. Imagining instead only some version of our current venial oligarchs with country houses and hereditary titles.

@adampollock That was when Britain was great. We need the aristocracy, not least because they funnel society's resources into great projects. Once you abolish class and make everyone supposedly "equal", all such a society produces is utilitarian and simplistic.

@RoryDuncan1966 We had it good in Rhodesia. Sadly, race communists and their ignorant Western supporters don't care about the crime or literacy rates, economic strength, or quality of life. They'd rather destroy it all if it means they get to rule over the rubble.

Lessons from Rhodesia: 45 years ago, these bank notes were stronger than most other currencies on earth despite a full-blown civil war ravaging the country for 15 years. The nation was also almost fully self-sufficient. There was no hunger, and unemployment was low. Hospitals worked, and literacy rates were higher than they are today. When watching the ANC publish renewal and rebuilding policy statements in a panicked flurry amid a massive expose of their own corruption and greed, I can't help but think back to times gone by when independence came knocking and what could have been. I wonder what it is about Africa that is so damn destructive and self-defeating. Almost every social, political, and economic challenge we face today was completely avoidable. Even today, right this minute, our current rate of decay and destruction could be halted within 100 days, and genuine renovations could begin. But instead of that, we're trapped in this spiraling fall into utter chaos. A death roll that shouldn't be but for the greed, arrogance, and selfishness of politicians who represent everything but what we truly need. No one wants what we see today but a handful of thieves and gangsters. Genuine renewal is born from an uncluttered review of the past as much as it it about smart visions for the future. I hope that soon some sanity will prevail. God bless us all.

@RiebvJanbeeck Couldn't agree more. Remarkable people who overcame untold hardships to build a civilisation in a place where there were only mud huts and empty land.

@VividProwess @AficanViking This happened to us with Air Rhodesia flight 825. Unspeakable atrocity, yet the world was silent. When people halfway around the world who never met you think they dislike you, they'll mentally justify silence in the face of all sorts of atrocities.

Jewish women were tied to trees, their mouths blocked, while they were raped and tortured by Hamas on October 7th, just before they were executed or burned alive. Women's organizations around the world were completely silent about this and still are. Their silence is deafening.

@Olivia_LaGrange This never would have been tolerated under Portugal. Another consequence of the anti-colonial movements of the late 1900s.

After a seven-year court case, the magistrate finally handed down her judgment, and as of the 1st October 2025, one of the most hateful people in South Africa, Julius Malema, is officially a convicted criminal. Video Link: youtu.be/J1szyY0Zz5Q

@Juanklappe @landbourainier That flag means so much more to many people than simply "apartheid". It was also the time in SA's history when streets were clean, crime was low, and folks didn't have to live in fear. SA was a prosperous nuclear power. And you care a lot, judging by the continuing replies.🙂

@Jason_R_Burt South African. 👍 Yet another example of the many South Africans and Rhodesians who stood by Britain in her darkest hour before being betrayed by her in ours.

@Juanklappe @landbourainier People here care enough to post and defend it, and before you try to argue X's supposed irrelevance, don't forget that you cared enough to come on here and attack it. Clearly "ain't nobody care" is simply false.

@growing_daniel If you speak in your local vernacular, you're reducing God to the level of some random person you met on the street. It also changes from generation to generation, changing the meanings of prayers and teachings. Stop using the vernacular in Church!

@FransdeKlerk77 Oom Paul, an extraordinary man. He may have been my ancestors' rival for control of the region, but against what we're facing today I have no doubt that Rhodes and Kruger would stand shoulder to shoulder. Glad he's getting the place of honour he deserves!

@landbourainier Such a beautiful flag. Filled with meaning and a proud history. A nation of builders as opposed to this current rag of a flag that represents destruction.

@kenmacallister @LibertyCappy It's an ideology which still keeps leftist political discourse in thrall. The symbol represents that wicked ideology, not merely one historic country.

@LibertyCappy The USSR no longer exists. This symbol hasn’t been used since 1991. Modern Russia is a capitalist economy. Has been so for decades. No, actually, they obviously don’t get it at all. They’re 34 years late to the party. That’s just sad.
