@wee_doll @leebeighton Ok…. So who else shall we compare him to that has recently gone from the UK into a top job in North America? There isn’t anyone because the point is that he’d need to start from the lower leagues and work up. And that was my reply to the original poster.

@RichDevil83 @leebeighton You can't compate budget when you dont know what it is. Belfast pay out far and above every other team in the league for travel which would eat a large chunk of whatever budget they have. I dont need to defend him 🤣 your comparison just isn't relevant issue all

I know circumstances mean it’s unlikely to materialise but there’s got to be clubs all over Europe and North America who want to throw money at Keefer to get him to coach their teams Arguably at this point the best coach in British Hockey ever - certainly in my lifetime

@wee_doll @leebeighton I was making the comparison with Lord (which is valid when comparing budget/arena size by the way) as the topic was about Keefe being poached by higher leagues- Lord wasn’t and he was successful here. His success isn’t in doubt so your staunch defence of him is irrelevant.

@RichDevil83 @leebeighton The point is the topic was keefe being successful here .....Nobody asked about Lord and even if they did, Keefe has been more successful in 6 years than Lord was. Not that its even a topic as its not relevant, based on him not actually being here

@wee_doll @leebeighton No, Lord hasn’t been year for years because after his successful “short” stint of six years he went to earn his reputation from the bottom. His UK cv allowed him to start in the echl, just like Keefe’s would, such is the value placed on UK titles.

Literally talking about the EIHL & your comparison is Lord who had a short stint here & done ok, compared to Keefe who is still here & has been most successful to coach in the EIHL era. Nobody asked most successful worldwide

@wee_doll @leebeighton With the nepotism, perhaps. But most top end teams wouldn’t look twice. He has to earn his stripes, and sadly the UK isn’t looked it as high enough a league. Not sure why that opinion means I have red tinted glasses mind. I’d be saying the same of Lord if he was still our coach.

@RichDevil83 @leebeighton He would walk into various jobs in leagues above and probably more then we even think if his brother were to step in and help. Sometimes people prioritise their family life over a career and thats ok. Dont let red tinted glasses get in the way of a good waffle though

@Belfasteve @leebeighton No, it’s a huge decision, and a similar one to that which hockey players have had to make throughout their lives (hence flying on Christmas Day to play a Boxing Day fixture for a team you’ve never heard of). It’s what they’re used to, not like a regular job.

@leebeighton Ok… I will amend what I said… “On the face of it, all of the above….” Either way. He’s not going to get a top job right away, no matter how many titles he wins in the UK. If that’s the what he’s waiting for he will be waiting a very long time.

That’s some performance tonight from the @cardiffdevils Barrow was outstanding and deserved MOM. As great as it was, can’t help but be frustrated knowing we’ve got that in us, yet have been playing half assed for weeks! We need that passion and energy every week!

Perhaps the refs had been assessed and given feedback between the incidents, hence the Tremblay review. But apparently I’m looking at it from a weak ‘I hate Steelers’ argument so there you go. I’m out.

@RichDevil83 @Canadine08 @officialEIHL What you're missing here Rich, is that it's a lack of consistency from the same officials. Ones that do not seem open to using context in situations. Let's not forget that accompanying the rulebook, there is also a book context of contexts to help refs take stuff into account.

Can anyone answer me this @officialEIHL , why did the officials go and look at the hit on the Cardiff player but haven’t been to look the last couple of weeks when hits have drawn blood?
