@FarmInvertsUK @StevenFalk1 @BumblebeeTrust Don't know E. coast but it's having a good yr on top of decades of steady expansion - I'm seeing it in good numbers in new areas around me in Worcs. Long-tube flowers in agenv mixes will certainly help, though they aren't focused on them like rudie. Weather/climate is major boost

@StevenFalk1 @BumblebeeTrust @RichardComont Cheers. My suspicion is that they may be following ruderatus in increasing as a result of CS/SFI farmland options and generally nature-friendlier farming over recent years. These ones are from established such fields.

British pollinators are now starting to fly. Great fun to watch, and to try and identify. Many resources are out there, but here's one I've produced that is free and online @N07/collections/72157629222209764/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">flickr.com/photos/6307520…. Great coverage of bees, hoverflies etc. Images & species accounts.

🚜FARMAGEDDON🌾 The story of what's REALLY going on in farming. A story far more complex than the conventional wisdom. This isn't just (or even mainly) about inheritance tax. It's about a cascade of challenges & crises that may ultimately threaten food security. 📽️5 min primer👇

Rather mournful that Twitter's ghost X is fading away faster now, it does feel like the end of the communal meeting place where everyone who had something to say could be found shouting, in different corners, but at least able to occasionally be heard over at the other side.

Anyone have obs. of Plagiotrochus coriaceus in Britain besides the original discovery by Robbins (2007)? Am going to review this species in Britain. Galled leaves below - smaller cp to other Plagiotrochus leaf galls & unilocular, sometimes in groups but never coalescing. Thanks!

I hear too many 'just so' stories about nature loss & approaches to recovery We need science to attribute causes of loss & to assess if & how conservation approaches work
