I thought the performance was actually OK and probably enough to have got something out of the game, especially with the injuries piling up again. The substitutions seemed to take all the shape out of the side though and we really struggled to make something happen late on.

@JamesCopley_ Sorensen is the best I’ve seen, although my favourite was Perez because of his character. However, I think Roefs will surpass them all and become a genuinely world class keeper.

We’re quite clearly taking our time with him and letting him settle in, as that’s what a long term strategy and plan for a player looks like. We’ve done this with various other players recently. If we feel they aren’t ready, we won’t chuck them in before they are.

I liked Tom Flanagan, but six years ago it was Flanagan debut in the EFL Trophy against a Championship U21 side, and now it’s Sunderland sitting at the top of the Championship with a recent Champions League player and a Serbian wonderkid awaiting their debuts.
