Americans of all political stripes know full well that Mullins was wrong, and that he should have said so. People across the country also understand why his temperament is relevant for a hearing about running a law enforcement agency under fire. You know who doesn’t? People who see every thing through politics, either their own political survival - aka members who will never ever speak for fear of the wrath of you know who…or because they just stopped thinking like normal humans, and can only see what happens through “will I win or lose something because of it” This happens more than people would care to know in this town, but the reaction to the HSGAC hearing yesterday really crystallized what’s wrong in politics and too may of the people who are in it. It’s really a shame because you can actually both have principles and act like a human and not worry about whether it’s the right political battle every moment of your existence.
