Energy costs are so much higher in the UK because we have no meaningful regulation of the sector, or of the private sector generally. The UK has a government that primarily serves billionaires & corporates. The best democracy money can buy!

My heart absolutely aches for those abused in Rotherham. I know their pain because I share in it. I am one of the one in four girls sexually abused before the age of 18. Having been abused as a young child I then fell for a situation with an older “boyfriend”. I’m not going into details, but I share the story of many of the girls groomed and sold for sez”x. My abusers were white. Statistically, most grooming gangs are. Rotherham council made several horrendous mistakes, which have quite rightly been the subject of several investigations. Using the situation to promote a racist narrative is horrific and vile. Abusers abuse because they can. English, non English, Christian, atheist, Muslim, Klingon… Instead of using these horrors to fuel hate, how about tackling systemic inequality, the continued abuse of girls and women, misogyny, stereotypes, lad culture…the list goes on. Don’t use it to hate on people just because they exist. If you’re going to get angry about perpetrators of abuse, get angry at all of them. And don’t you dare use the pain of survivors to promote your agenda.
